That’s gotta be close to an all time record for first place votes. 165/171!
Where’s the east coast bias?

I don't think Staples is a PHWA member.
EDMONTON CHAPTER
Mark Spector,
Jason Gregor
Rob Tychkowski
Shane Jones
Marty Klinkenberg
Daniel Nugent Bowman
Take your pick.
Under the Lifetime Members category, there's Terry Jones and Jim Matheson.

Still sad about the way the season ended, but helps the sting a bit for me.

Since the introduction of the draft.
Bobby Orr was the last undrafted Norris winner in 1975, but he predated the draft.

Also Terry Jones is a lifetime member. Could've been him too.

Congrats Gio!
Has there ever been a winner with that many first place votes?

What a truly amazing story for undrafted Giordano to at this age dominate the way he did all year and win the Norris. We are truly lucky to have him as our captain!!

The current Norris Trophy winner makes less than Kevin Hayes. Seems pretty f'd up to me.

Imagine back in 2006 looking at the Flames roster and thinking that one day one of the Flames' rookie defencemen would be a Norris Trophy winner. You wouldn't have guessed it was the guy who had one assist in 7 games played.
