Puljujarvi will stay in Europe if not traded from Edmonton
https://twitter.com/user/status/1141395939266945024
His "top priority" may be the NHL, but it certainly isn't Edmonton anymore.
This shouldn't be surprising, even with the news that Puljujarvi is training in Edmonton.

Wonder if the Connor Brown rumours come into play here.

Welp. Good luck. Not going to get much for an asset that wants out.

Probably worth a second to some team. I could see the Avalanche thinking about it.

Probably looking at a 2nd like we got for Baertschi. Or maybe they can package him with someone like Koskinen or Russell to get rid of those contracts

Honestly, I thought he had all the tools, the Oilers just suck and totally mishandled him.

Make sure to watch the Canucks viewing party as well. It's like a bonus feature on the Bluray
Benning: "The Canucks are proud to select from the London Knights..."
Crowd: "YES! WHOO!!! OH YEAH!!"
Benning: "Olli Juolevi"
Crowd *collective gasp in confusion*
Crowd: "What? Boo"

Connor Brown for Puljujarvi is a net win for Edmonton.
I'm so irritated I learned how to spell this dude's name - he's a ####ing nobody.

If I were the Sens, I'd be open to using one of their 2nd round picks on him. They have so many picks, why not spare one to take a flyer on the guy hoping he finds his game in Ottawa? Seems like a pretty low risk.
If Edmonton wants a player back, however, then I guess it depends on what they want. I'd imagine teams would be offering similar type of underperforming propsect in return.

I think the NHL game moves way too fast for him, and his brain cannot keep up with the pace of the play.
I am sure that a change of venue would do him well—Edmonton is the home of failure. But I remain highly sceptical that he wil ever come close to fulfilling his draft projections. He will always tantalize with his god-given physical talents, but will continue to underwhelm because of his inability to read the game.

From the trade/spec thread.
Honestly, I would bet that Pool turns it around. I feel like a lot of players in Edmonton look like they don't understand the fundamentals of hockey, especially younger players, because Edmonton (organization wide) is just so exceptionally poor at hockey.
Look at Hall. He had the same marks against him regarding his intelligence and hockey IQ. He is (of course) a much much better player than Pool, but I tend to think he has a similar type of career uptick, especially playing for a great organization instead of a terrible one.
I don't think Edmonton's negative effect on players can be understated. I think even McDavid could be Gretzky-esque if not (ironically) for the Edmonton Oilers.

The Oilers's handling of Puljujarvi was only part of the problem. The other part is that he has no sense of the game, and cannot seem to follow the play at the NHL level. I think that regardless of his surroundings if he remains in the NHL he will always leave observers wanting more.

Hmmm...I think Calgary should offer Curtis Lazar for Puljujarvi. He can keep up with McDavid, so would have some value for the Oilers

There is a good reason the only Finnish GM in the league passes on a guy who was the consensus 3rd overall prospect in the draft. I can see a team giving a 2nd and maybe another later pick. I kind of think Puljujarvi will be like Yakupov and not figure it out.

I can't wait for the day that we see "[Rumour] McDavid has made it clear to the Oilers that he wants to be traded" on this board.
