The back to back is not the issue per se -- it's the 3 games in 4 on the road, with only a day of travel before they're back at home against the top team in the league.

I know his numbers are down this year but there's no reason why Gillies can't step in and get a W. He's done it before with a weaker team in front of him.

I see your point, and I wouldn't be opposed to Gillies getting a look, but if Rittich plays well tomorrow I'd like to see him start against the Blues. Get those points and run with Smith or Gillies against the Stars.

With the way the rest of the Pacific is going right now, if you see a game as being close to a sure thing, I wouldn't take any risks. Grab those points.

Nick Schneider is who deserved this call up. I know Gillies and PArsons are the guys the organization is pushing, but they've both been pretty disastrous thus far this season.

And you're characterizing that and his stats prior to the injury as a success?

No, but I am suggesting that his three games played are not something upon which to draw conclusions about his season. Besides, he was excellent in his last game, so who knows what happens once he is back?
