I am not sure why everyone is jumping to conclusions based on some media information.

This is likely a very complicated legal issue and we know pretty much zero facts.

The only thing that can be said with certainty here is we really have no knowledge of who, if anyone, is at fault here.

Has anyone here read the entire contract?

For all we know, the contract may have provided for the ability for either or both sides to walk away if certain things happened.

After reading the flame’s statement, it seems like they got cold feet and took the opportunity to stop the project when the city cracked the door open. This way, CSEC can spread the blame. It’s too bad. If and when they decide to build a new event centre, it will undoubtedly be much more expensive for all parties.

I like how the usual bootlickers are in here lining up for a sniff of old Murr's taint this morning.

This guy is one of the worst parts about our city. I hope this situation blows up and leads to him no longer owning the club. He's a menace.

Can we all agree to not call it an Event Centre next time? Just call it an arena..

I'm positive that there are a couple folks who have. And based on some of the comments in the other thread, a few that were party to the development permit process, either as observers or otherwise.
