Finally got to the Florentino transcript/translation. He's basically the eloquent version of Trump, off in his own world, saying whatever the ####, insulting people and clubs out of nowhere, always convinced he's going to win. But way more likeable than Trump, and pretty funny in a deranged sort of way.

I will say kudos to The Athletic staff's coverage of the Super League catastrophe, it's been fantastic.

This whole thing has been amazing. Probably the greatest own goal since "New Coke", and that was pretty hilarious itself.

The Epitome of 'Unforced Errors.'

Hopefully we get a "30 for 30" from this.

Am I a minority? I liked the old CL format of group stage + knockouts.

Currently takes 10 games to win the CL.
Under the new format will take 14-16.

When the Champions League was first rebranded in the early 90s it was knock until the final 8. Then with two groups of 4 with group winner going to the final. I really liked that.

The new format also gets 2 of the big boys in if they fail to qualify

Two highest club coefficients that have qualified for at least Europa or European conference league, qualify for the CL

looks like Nagelsmann might indeed be heading to Bayern. They have contacted Leipzig, but they want €25m for him, so curious to see how this one ends.

Curious to see how this all goes, he has had quite a bit of power at Hoffenheim and Leipzig. Considering the lack of power is why Flick is leaving, seems like it could backfire for Bayern.

either way, the coaching carousel is absolutely insane this season. It's quite possible that every single club finishing in the top 7 will have a new coach next season ... the final piece might be Wolfsburg coach Oliver Glasner, whose relationship with their sporting director Jörg Schmadtke has been strained for a while and there have been a lot of rumours that he might leave too. He worked for RB before, so he'd be a natural fit there following Nagelsmann.

Rose from Gladbach to Dortmund (confirmed)
Hütter from Frankfurt to Gladbach (confirmed)
Flick from Bayern to German NT (all but confirmed)
Nagelsmann from Leipzig to Bayern (likely)
Glasner from Wolfsburg to Leipzig or Frankfurt (possible)

plus there's still a vacancy at Leverkusen. Madness.

Dieter knows what he's about.

Nagelsmann to Bayern has been confirmed by the clubs. Fee up to €25m, which makes it by far the most expensive transfer of a coach/manager in football history.

Not much has gone right for Liverpool this year, but missing out on Werner is one of the highlights. Seems he misses a sitter a match, Chelsea have to feel robbed by Leipzig.
