------------
2018 edit:
Instead of rewriting all this in a new thread I just thought I'd bump this old one. We're in the middle of collecting fees for next season and there are a few openings in Classic and Dynasty. If you're interested get in touch.
------------

Hit the Net fantasy league is looking for a few new GMs for the upcoming NHL season. We're starting year 10 of the league and have grown from a single Classic points league to now include a dynasty and roto league. The league started on CP so I'm coming back here first to find replacements.

Classic keeper league:
24 teams named after NHL teams
Each team will carry 23 NHL players, 15 prospects. NHL squad consists of 3C, 3L, 3R, 3Forwards, 6D, 2G, 3 Bench, any position.
Skaters gain 1 point for a goal or assist, goalie 2 for a win, +3 per shutout

Keep 8F, 3D, 1 skater (F or D), 1 G +prospects
Annual prospect and UFA drafts
Prizes for the top 3 teams in the regular season and top 4 in the playoffs

Abandoned team mini draft
New GMs will select keepers (8F, 3D 1Skater (F or D), 1 G) from the list of NHL players plus available prospects

Yeah classic is my favorite. Requires strategy and long term planning.

Definitely classic. Best part for me is long term rebuilding and the prospect draft.

They are all different and have their own qualities.

The Roto league is a challenge because of the number of categories. You need to find the right mix of players. 14 teams means you have lots of players to choose from though. It might best be geared towards the GMs who like to look beyond goals and assists.

For Dynasty you never have to dump players like other keeper leagues therefore you can build up a team. It's more like a traditional NHL team in that respect. It's the smallest league therefore lots of choice for players. Having a category for hits and blocks adds some complexity and a different angle. We started it because a number of the guys like the idea of building a team up. It might be the best of the three for someone new to leagues.

Classic is simple from a point perspective but tough because of the number of teams. You don't just have top 6 forwards, you have a mix of a couple of top forwards, middle guys, and some 4th liners. It's hard because you need to find the right mix of players that give you depth throughout.

It's hard to pick a favourite. I find Roto the biggest challenge and the most frustrating (especially this year), I love the categories in Dynasty the most, and Classic for it's sheer size which makes it tough to win.

Each team in HTN Classic has 15 prospect spots. These spots can be filled by eligible minor league players who have less than 40 NHL games played (20 for goalies). Once they hit the games played limit you can leave them in your prospect slot but have to promote them at the seasons end.

Obviously there are rules around prospect eligibility as well. But it basically mirrors the NHL. So the prospects taken at the NHL entry draft are pretty much who we select from in our prospect draft.
