I have a weird question - Can the Flames buyout Stone and then resign him for 1 year at minimal dollars?

If so, would that make sense?

If our pro scouts like him we better take a pass.

They can't sign him for a year, IIRC

Nope.

Also, I'm a right shot, I can barely skate, and I'd be a better option than Petrovic. Just stay away, Treliving. Unless you're just adding a body in Stockton.

I think he would be with the Flames all year similar to Prout last year. Hopefully plays 10 games or less

Yep, my apologies. Could not remember any of the Stockton D.

My belief is that Kylington takes the 7D spot if they keep a 21 man roster to start the year for cap reasons.

Had to borrow this from the E=NG thread, since Petrovic was borrowed from there too...

Does Kylington require waivers? If so I could understand why you think that. If not it doesn’t make sense to have him as the number 7 when he could be number 1 in Stockton.

I also think there is a decent chance the Flames trade a Dman before the season starts. 2 months until puck drop

Kylington is waiver-exempt for one more season.

I figured if they could only have 1 additional player to be up with the team it made sense to have one that could not only play D but was also capable of being a forward in a pinch. Kylington had done both with the club.

I'm thinking at this point that Treliving is leaving Stockton pretty bare of Dmen with most of the kids making the jump.

I think it is a bad development move to keep a player with a lot to learn and tons of potential be a popcorn eater. When did he play forward?

Could have sworn he was used there last season. Regardless, he has the tools to do it and would be a good fit while they figured out their cap issues. Not a given he'd sit every night. And he's gotten to the point where he could probably learn more / be better off with the NHL team. He's surpassed the AHL, IMO.

He hasn't played forward since his first junior season I believe which goes wayyyyy back.

There was a game in Stockton where a few players got kicked out of the game and he pinched in, but he is far better at defence.

I believe he also used to play LW, an area of strength. Leave him on defence, people going to get injured and he has already proven he can handle NHL minutes.

Our long term left side defence looks so much better with him in it.

Hanifin-Vali-Kylington is going to be very solid for a very very long time.

Keep him unless a clear cut slam dunk is offered.

This needs to be repeated. And repeated.

UFA Tre undoes all the good RFA Tre does.

UFA Tre needs to be stopped.
