Shaw at 3B and Vladdy at 1B helps the infield defense, which is already suspect. It's still a terrible infield defensively, but if they all hit like they can, that infield will rake.
I am really hoping they develop Martin at CF. That's where he will have the biggest impact tor this team going forward IMO.
Yeah, I think they will keep on the middle infield for now, with that as a back up plan.
But yeah, best case is having Bichette and Groshans being at SS/3B already and just being too damn good to move off so then Martin goes to CF when he debuts.

So keep Biggio at second? Groshans and Bichette battle for SS/3B. Vlad is thiccc and just stays at first.

My opinion is Vlad was destined to be at 1st because of his size, but I wish they didn't make that transition this early in his career. It's almost like they assume he'll grow and they accept that fate. Groshans or Bichette at 3rd makes a lot more sense, and frankly I don't care if they're mediocre on D. If they're all getting on base it'll even out just fine.

One more thought on the Jays and Rogers Centre (Skydome). I hope if they decide to use Buffalo as their home field this year, they invest the time and money into renovating the Rogers Centre. Perfect time to do it really.
No sign of Gurriel Jr. at camp yet and no comment from the team. That would be a fair size blow to an already thin outfield, if he didn't play this year. Might be recovering from covid-19 (speculation on my part).

Could be. I think there are a few other names missing if I remember correctly. Also, Aroldis Chapman is out with covid now. I wonder if the season will get off at all with the MLB model not being a bubble.
And now Stroman tearing into Grichuk. Not a fan of this twitter feud stuff, and not a fan of either player, but this is pretty funny. Stroman is more or less a known ass, and Grichuk simply has been an underachiever who is a better union lacky than baseball player. Anyway, not a fan of his contract so Stroman making fun of him is pretty funny.
I saw Scott Mitchell post this this morning but I would agree. That for 60 games why not bring in Yasiel Puig. I wouldn't want for a full season, but he is an upgrade on most of our current outfielders, and he would only be around for a few months.
I would say they don't want Yasiel Puig because he is a total POS and you don't want that around your young guys.
Also, they probably really want to give the young outfielders one spot in the OF to battle for. They have three pretty much everyday outfielders in Gurriel, Hernandez and Grichuk. I'd say they want Fisher, Alford et al to battle for the 4th OF spot so they leave it open.
I get what you are saying, but it's only 60 games of Puig sand Fisher and Alford aren't big leaguers. Puig is pretty similar to Grichuk and Hernandez, so he isn't great but the Jays don't have many good options in the outfield.
