He totally has one of those sterilizing chambers like the ones at the CDC.

Perhaps dogs are gross, but humans have longer lifespans when they cohabitate with them.

I will gladly continue to lick the fecal matter out of my dogs mouth if it means I get to live a little longer.

Also, dog owners who don't French kiss their dogs make me sick.

People get the same or greater benefit from taking care of cats, plants, and robots.

I guess you could program a robot to poop in your mouth if that’s the driving factor for you.

What year are you from? How are robots so ever present in your life that you're not only taking care of one, but programming it how and where to poop?

I am getting the impression that you have a dangerously close relationship with your Roomba...

I saw it on the main page, where the only identifying information shown was the name of the last poster. In that particular case, Locke.

I use Tapatalk discussion’s and don’t see the OP name so I got what you were saying. You don’t need to see the OP name to know you’re in a Sliver rabbit hole. Always a fun ride, and 90% of it should be read as green text.

If you are arguing that them existing in their current state is a problem than you have to compare it to non-existence. I’m not arguing that unborn dogs suffer. Not-existing would be a neutral state. Existing could be better or worse then not existing. By saying non-existence would be better you need to be advocating that the overall suffering of dogs is greater than the joy of dogs being dogs.

So if the world does go vegetarian for ethical reasons then the non-existence of a cow should be compared to its existence and to the existence of whatever takes its place. If you don’t compare to non-existence why don’t we nuke the world to eliminate human suffering.

This is a nonsense argument. You can’t compare to the absence of existence because everything you’re weighing and placing value on is strictly concerned with existence, coming from someone whose value and weight on these issues comes solely from the fact that they exist. There’s nothing to measure against. What you’d actually be measuring is as you said: whether existing is better than death. That’s a different thing entirely.

For something that doesn’t exist, nothing has value. “Well, would a dog like to play fetch? Or would a dog prefer to not exist in the first place?” Spoiler: nothing prefers to not exist in the first place that doesn’t already exist, because preference is a condition of existence!

Bumface is right. You’re basically advocating a hardcore pro-life argument. Can’t allow abortions or birth control if the potential value of life is always better than not existing.

Plus dogs are gross, to reiterate.

I'm in the camp of leaving the dog at home for most outings other that the family walk.

IMO - bringing Fido to the elementary school to pick up Sally, when all hell breaks loose when 400 kids running out to greet their parents, is incredibly selfish. Great for Sally, but not the other 399 kids with all different comfort levels with animals. They are usually parked front and center of the school sidewalk as well, not in some corner.

Good point. Probably delousing his family with a high powered hose against the garage door like LA County intake
