No. The Flames chose to not offer him a contract this year, so they lost their draft rights to him (as a European, they had 4 years to sign him to an NHL contract -- last year he was on an AHL-only contract). He is currently a UFA.

There is some serious talent left on the board. I bet a few of them make the NHL.
Went with Lindstrom here as I see him as a similar player to Backlund.
Sveningsson is up next for me, followed by Zavgorodny, Pettersen... and then I will have to re-rank the rest later. Those are 3 very slick players with different skill-sets.
