Depends. Sometimes I used to just drive up or walk up to a hotel and ask. Other times I would use Expedia upon arrival. Depends on my internet accessibility.

Hey guys, if I take a flight from Calgary -> Halifax -> Paris, with a 2 hour layover in Halifax but its the same plane that makes both flights... Will we be able to get off in Halifax? Or would we have to sit on the plane?

More importantly, when in Halifax be sure to pick up some of the local craft beer.
Breton Brewing Black Angus IPA is amazing
Nine Locks Watermelon Blonde is a beauty of a summer beer.
Halifax Airport is in the middle of a major renovation, not sure if any of the bars have it on tap or if it's simply the brewtique store.

So out of curiosity... what are the rules on tickets and names? My kids names are abut longer than ours and end up getting cut off on itineraries sometimes and it freaks me out when I see the names all merged without spaces or hyphens removed, etc.
I booked on FlightHub and my son’s middle name was truncated on the invoice and when I checked Air Canada the name was just one long string of first and middle names and last name with no spaces. Should I care about this as long as the letters are in the right order and are correct up until they get truncated for length?

I've heard great things about it.
The problem with Iran right now for Canadians is that you are required to visit there on a guided tour.

Guided tours can be fine, as long as you find one that is your style.

Persia would be such an amazing place to visit - history, food, weather and culture. It's so unfortunate relations between the west have sucked for decades. I wouldn't travel there given the current climate but that's just me.

Just got back from Scotland/Amsterdam/Portugal.
Portugal was amazing, especially the Algarve. Would highly recommend.

Don't worry about it. I called Air Canada about that same issue and they said it's all good in their system, but the boarding passes and stuff just cut it off. They know and there's no problem with it happening.

The thing that got me was that when I called Flighthub they made it sound like I made a mistake entering the name and suggested that I cancel the flight and rebook. I think I will be avoiding Flighthub in the future though. The whole interaction on the phone left me a bit irritated.

I just went through Halifax yesterday. I don’t think it’s the same plane. I flew from Glasgow to Halifax yesterday. My flight from Halifax to Calgary was delayed 30 minutes as we were waiting for the Paris passengers that came in late to clear customs.
As someone mentioned above, regardless of what place you are you have to get off in Halifax and clear customs. You then grab your checked bags and put them on the “connections” belt. You can go to your gate then without clearing security again.
