I mean the last single player game I bought was the Tactics Ogre remake and before that, Jedi: Fallen Order lol..

how dare you enjoy a videogame when others have long decided that it's bad?

I think the consensus is Jedi Survivor is a pretty great game despite the glitches / bugs, and Redfall is just pretty bland / mediocre on top of having lots of glitches / bugs.

I played the first 15 hours of Jedi: Fallen Order but it seemed kinda bland to me. The combat was ok but I hated all the back tracking and the travel was annoying. The opening sequence of Fallen Order was super fun and then it just started getting meh. Is Jedi Survivor greatly improved?

Buggy game releases are the fault of the publisher. Full stop. This is why they do beta testing, QA/QC, to prevent buggy game releases.
Whether Gamepass has exacerbated this issue is up for debate, but it’s something lots of writers are bringing up…PC releases have in particular reviewed like early access games

But this is what you said.

I finished it as I had nothing else I was eager to play and it remained incredibly bland throughout. I’m also curious if the new one is any better, as the story wasn’t terrible, but combined with the gameplay it was a very boring game that I was happy to delete the moment I finished the story.

Anybody know if I can play the new one without playing the first one? You folks aren't exactly selling me on giving it a spin, but I do want to try the new one.

FWIW, I don't remember a thing about the first one and I'm onto the second.

However, its not like they've been outputting banger after banger on Xbox first party studies have they?
This is the current debate on the web currently following the release of Redfall...its a ####ty, buggy game, but because you get it 'free' on Gamepass, its ok...
Name one AAA Xbox first party release in the last 10 years that has actually been considered great Forza is the only one that comes to mind

It's a niche genre, but Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) has a 91 rating on Metacritic.

Looks like there was a leak of a guide from piggyback for the new Zelda from Spain. Nothing in North America yet.

Honestly it feels like a slightly upgraded version of Fallen Order. I enjoyed Fallen Order and have liked Survivor but am still pretty early in the game. I think it is very much like God of War Ragnorak vs the last PS4 GoW game. A great continuation of the story with nicer visuals and some tweaks but very much the same game

I loved Fallen Order when it was first released. Felt like a mainstream souls type of game to me. I’m not a Star Wars fan at all either. I’ve seen maybe one movie.
Looking forward to giving Survivor a try after I’m done with RE4

Only a few days remain until the big update for Crusader Kings 3. At this point, Crusader Kings 3 is realistically my most favorite video game of all time. I've never played a game as much as I have this one, not even close.

Wow not sure why they have a discounted preorder on it, not complaining though. Got one!

Yeah, it's cheaper than the softcover and cheaper than on Amazon.com.
Piggyback guides have been great. I'm sold.
EDIT: 500 pages!

I was one of the early adopters of Demons Souls and like those games but I think what bothers me about Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor is you are swinging a light saber around at humans, aliens, and monsters. You should be causing an incredible amount of carnage but its like bouncing a glow stick off someone until their health bar goes away.
I'm not a gore or giblets gaming guy but you should be slicing bodies into pieces in the in-universe logic and it bothers me greatly that it doesn't happen - leading to the bland gameplay.

If a single swipe of a lightsaber would take out all your enemies it would make for a really easy game. It's not really unlike any video game in general where enemies are bullet sponges.

Sure, then you can give them lightsaber resistant energy shields or armor or scales but once you are about to kill them and you've knocked off all the armor, we should be decapitating Storm Troopers left and right.
When I was a kid, I had to mod Dark Forces II with a decapitation and dismemberment mod because it was bothering me that Kyle Katarn was just hitting storm troopers with his glow stick and they fell over with only low-res burn decals.
From what I know of the games, you can dismember and break apart things like Droids, etc. but you can't for humans.
