Other than that yeah, seems like Smith is always bailing us out.

Not sure if there is a valid point here. Despite the cliché it is very often possible to win games without a sixty minute effort. Agree that Smith has been great for them, but good teams find ways to win close games.

It's damn close to the lineup that the majority of us would like to see. Just missing 1 fellow.

I like that top 9(once Versteeg/Bennett/Ferland aren't all playing at their absolute worst), but I would rather see the whole Mangiapane-Jankowski-Hathaway line as the final line than any of the three guys currently on it. Though Mangiapane-Jankowski-Hamilton could be interesting too.

About time Kulak gets in the lineup. Finally the Flames have three legitimate pairings - the first time this season.
Not sure what Stajan has done to be healthied, though. He's been okay given his linemates and ice time this season.

This is a real should-win game. Minny is banged up and on a back to back with travel.
A good effort and good execution will lead to a win. They better be able to pull it off.

I think it's more about getting Lazar in than an issue with Stajan. They need to see what they have in Lazar.

I predict the Flames come out on fire and blow out Minnesota 7-1. The Bi-Polar community here talks about GG winning the Jack Adam's after calling for his head a game ago.

Definitely feeling confident about the game tonight. Backup with a team coming off a back to back that the Flamesnhave played well recently.
Gulutzan was pretty passionate with his displeasure and I think tonight is a building block game.
Flames win handily 5-2

This is exactly what I asked for. Well done Gulutzan.

Is this an issue of cheating or guys feeling out the system? Either way, I hope it's stuff that's corrected for tonight.
When the Flames are on, we are quick in the transition with quick, short passes moving up ice.
|
They look slow because when they're playing poorly, they aren't skating - way too much standing still.
Really frustrating to watch the D continually circle back in order to maintain possession, only to have that cause the forwards to stand still in the neutral zone. Then they go for the tip pass for a dump-in. Which causes them to give up possession anyway. So frustrating (and boring) to watch.
When the Flames are skating, and play a transition game, that is when they are their best. That is what they are built for. But they aren't playing that way enough.
More speed injected into the lineup tonight, so hopefully they play a fast, aggressive game.

There are only two games on HNIC tonight, so it will likely be one of the main crews.
The last two weeks, the Flames played at the same time as the Oilers, so Randorf and DeBrusk did the Oiler games and we got Ball two weeks ago and Shorthouse last week. With no overlap this week, it will likely be Randorf and DeBrusk.

The community isn't bi-polar, it's a collection of people. You're eternally pessimistic about the Flames so you see positive reaction to positive signs and results as an extreme, unwarranted opinion swing.
