Other than Hakan Loob #12 in retro red, Jagr #68 in retro red is one of the only Flames jerseys I plan to get in the near future.

ha, they will. You're probably betting that way to curb your excitement. Retro nights = Retro jerseys.

Of course the one team I could see messing that simple formula up is Ken King's Calgary Flames.

That's exactly my reason. It seems so obvious only the Flames could mess it up.

Does it?

I'll be amazed if it's not just an audience theme night ala Western Night. With no retro Adidas, or Adidas 3rds, I can't imagine they'll be wearing the Reebok.

Or that the NHL won't give them an exception to the "no alternate jerseys" rule the NHL has in place for this year.

I resent that statement. I have a bunch of player jerseys AND jerseys with my last name on the back. To me, players come and go but my name and loyalty remains with the team

Secondly, am I naive to say that so many of our dreams as kids revolve around playing in the nhl, and specifically our favorite team being the flames? There's nothing more fun than using a little imagination when playing on an ODR and envisioning that you scored the big goal for your hometown team. Do not be so quick to make fun of people for wanting to be a part of the team we all idolize.

If it's a foul, it's a minor at best, not a game misconduct like these:

Hey, like I said before, it's totally up to each person. There's no jersey foul bible and if there was I'd follow it about as much as I do the actual bible.

If you like putting your own name on it, who am I to judge?

Plus, there's a prospect NHLer with whom I share the exact same first and last name. Soon as he cements himself as a permanent NHLer I'm buying his jersey no doubt about it. Unless he gets traded to Vancouver or Edmonton. Then I'm changing my name to Max Power.

Technically a jersey foul (for now), but you definitely get a pass because the retros are awesome and so is Jagr. Just don't do it on a CCM Vintage with the 89 Cup Patch on the shoulder

Thanks on the Jagr Rule™ you can now put Jagr onto any Flames jersey while avoiding faux-pas. In fact, if put on a pedestal or horse head jersey, you’ve drastically improved your jersey.

Jersey Foul, unless Jagr wore it (applies to all players). Thanks again Ken King..

Fair to say they didn't update the 2017 to 2018 January-on.

That being said, I bet they don't wear a retro jersey but just sell retro merch.
The link is to this year's schedule. They just forgot to change the year to 2018. They have a retro night this year therefore Jagr will wear a retro jersey.

Which is exactly what I said.

Doubt it still.

Report: No alternate jerseys next season

It’s an especially tough break for several of the league’s teams who’ve just recently introduced their alternates, too. Some of those — like the Ducks’ orange ‘Mighty Ducks’ throwback, Flames’ white ‘C’ and Capitals’ retro-style jersey — have become instant favorites.

That still doesn't explain why Toronto will get thirds for their "Toronto Arenas" jerseys. They always have to be the exception to the rule, don't they?

Let's start a petition. The: "Let Jagr wear Retro on Retro Night Petition."

It doesn't explain it because it doesn't need explaining. One off nights will still be allowed, you just can't have their official jersey rotations. The out door games will all have different uniforms, and ditto for the Flames and their yearly retro night.

Is that so? I do remember that before the retro jerseys became our thirds, there were retro nights at the dome where the flames wore the regular unis. I could be wrong though.

We'll see.

Until I see other teams announcing they're getting one-off jerseys that aren't for outdoor games, I'll trust the previous reports.

Because it’s Toronto?
Also, was that requested before adidas was announced?

It's JAGR. Put him on any gosh-darn jersey you want.
