Might not be a popular opinion in these parts because I can see why Vernon has not made it yet.

He played on some really good teams. I always thought Kiprusoff was a way better goalie than Vernon.

Stat wise Vernon may have more wins, cups, etc. Yet Kipper won games by himself. On some bad teams.

2004 he became a legend. Vernon never did that. Vernon was a good goalie but not a magician.

Mogilny should be in the hall no doubt. Dont know why he is not.

That said Fleury should be in the Hall too. I get off ice he is an ahole. Yet it is about the game of hockey not the game of personal opinion. His stats alone should get him there. I don’t like the guy but to ignore what he has done in the game of hockey is wrong.

With any preceding argument I say, Kevin Lowe should not be in the Hall of Fame.

That is an insult to every hockey fan. Look at his stats on some of the best offensive teams ever. Darnell Nurse and Rasmus Anderson deserve it more than he does. That is saying a lot. No they don’t deserve it!

I don’t consider Gio a HHOF player.

Yet by the Lowe standard he is.

The year he finished with the second most wins by a goalie in a season all time just happened to be the season that Brodeur also set the record.

Gary Suter should also be in the Hall. Almost as many points as the Sedins. But Suter was a defenseman.

How about showing some sportsmanship and not diving like a piece of kyit in his hey day with the Canucks? Wasn't he the original "dropped by a sniper" meme?

I'll accept his name in the hall if they write down as 7uongo....

As Canadian Sports fans being sad and bitter is a prerequisite.

We can even be sad and bitter about being sad and bitter, but it is what it is.

Luongo 100% deserves that spot

- 4th all time in wins
- Career .919 SV%
- 2x Olympic Gold Medals
- 1x World Cup Champion
- 5x Top 5 Vezina Voting
- 2nd most wins in a regular season
- Hart runner up in 07
- 1044 games as a goalie
- 1x Stanley Cup Final appearance

Zero question that Luongo gets in over some others in part becuase of his off ice situation still being in the league, chatting up press day to day and being a bit of a character.

Lowe started campaigning to be in the HoF probably a year after he stopped playing and his social game of giving out juicy rumors about his team and others and wining and dining press eventually pays off, so that's certainly a part of the selection process that Luongo can tap into.

I also think Theo should be in there, I don’t think a lot of fans follow players lives outside of hockey games and that’s why the off ice stuff doesn’t or shouldn’t matter.
I’m honestly not even sure or aware of what it is with Fleury and why he’s not in yet.

I did read his book so maybe the way his pro career ended has something to do with it.

LOL says the pathetic Canuck fan... ok

Luongo and the Canucks set hockey back 20 years and turned the game into soccer matches for that decade.

If you are kicked out of the league chances are you aren’t getting into the HOF. Even if they later let you in as a favour (and then you basically spit in the eye of the people who gave it to you).

# of cups is the worst measure of how good a player is.

The reason he's not in is everybody knows Theo's life outside of hockey. He makes the world see it. And it's sooo bad.

I don’t get the Mogilny thing either. What are the theories as to why he’s being left out?

IMO yes Lundqvist is a lock next year. 6th in all time wins. I'd be shocked if he isn't in the class of 2023.

Hopefully Mogilny gets in next year. Another guy who has waited forever is Pierre Turgeon. Over 1300 points and more than a PPG player and still not in. Both Mogilny and Turgeon should be in.

Lundqvist, Mogilny, Turgeon, Zetterberg, Ouelette, and Duggan would be my 2023 class.
