I am a little surprised Luongo was picked to be honest. The only major award he ever won was the Jennings, which he shared with Schneider. He was a good goalie for sure, but wasn't ever the unanimous best goalie at any given time. I guess playing 1000 games for a goalie is a pretty big deal though.

Luongo absolutely should've won the Vezina in 2004. .931 save percentage in 72 games behind an *awful* Panthers team. Miikka had a great year but he played half as many games ... and Brodeur had way worse numbers behind the best defence in the league.

The lone women to be inducted this year is Finnish forward Sallinen. The 48-year-old played 16 seasons with the national team, earning two Olympic bronze medals in 1998 and 2018, world championship silver in 2019 and six world bronze medals. Internationally, Sallinen scored 63 goals and 59 assists over 81 career games for Finland.

No comment about her, since I've never heard of her, but if her accomplishments set the standard for what it takes to be a HOFer, then many players from the US and Canadian women's teams who likely have many gold medals at the Worlds and Olympics should start writing their acceptance speech

Alfredsson is a really questionable pick. He doesn't stand out at all amongst other fringe HHOFers.

Luongo was certainly good enough, but I'm surprised that he made it in given the really strict standard for modern goalies. Barrasso and Cujo still haven't been inducted yet.

Only 1st year eligible player next year to be a lock is Lundqvist. Some holdovers should get in next year.

Ouelette is a great one. So were Piper, Botterill, Agosta, Potter, Campbell, to name a few
