How much more can they possibly strip down 960?

If anything they need more people, privileges, and to send the goddam crew on the road for away games.

Making them call from a boardroom was a joke!

They deserve better. Quit being cheap.

They have been stripping 960 of resources for a while now. Remember that this is Roger's we're talking about, here. If they lose the rights, there is a good chance that TSN swoops in to offset the lack of television coverage, and 960 becomes a story of the past.

I enjoy every time the Morning Show complains about how they don't get K-Cups for their Keurig anymore.

If they give up the radio rights, you have to assume it will be the end of Sportsnet 960.

The big question then would be if Bell will launch a TSN Radio here and go after the rights, or will the Flames return to QR after many decades? Or, could the Flames launch their own streaming platform for the "radio" games?

Corus (QR's owner) has the rights to the Oilers and Jets, so they could take over the Flames and Canucks and have all the Western teams while TSN has the Eastern.

It would also be a return home for both the Flames and Canucks. QR was the original Flames' broadcaster until some time in the early 90s. For a long time, the Canucks and their old radio home, CKNW, were both owned by the Griffiths, although both were sold by the family in the late-90s.

I really liked Strombo as host, doubt he gets another shot.

Beiksa has been a great addition to the panel.

I don't know who else could be host other than Amber.

What was the cost of NHL Live last season?

The Sportsnet Now Premium package is $34.99 per month, or $249.99 for a full year and includes a lot of soccer, rugby, and WWE content as well.

Yeah I started a thread in the Tech forum and we're also talking about it in there. Someone did bring up a good point though that you'll now also get whatever else is on SN Now, like Jays games, etc. But apparently, SN Now is terrible at streaming so the user experience might be terrible - NHL Live was pretty good

Edit: Never mind, see above. I was off.

I guess this is a good reminder to take your automatic renewal off for NHL Live. Would suck to accidentally get charged for a service you can't get.

+1 for David Amber.

And I know he's not for everybody, but I generally like Marek and think he'd be fine, too.

That's better than 7. Hopefully it's split up next time

Apple TV+is already broadcasting MLB games and is now the sole way to watch MLS. I dream of a world where Apple broadcast NHL games. Apple has the best cameras and the quality is unmatched anywhere I have ever seen.

Makes sense and I wondered about that a couple times here, this year. MacLean has been over the top this year, and becoming more of a fanboy than usual, more dramatic than usual, probably knowing full well he didn’t really have to answer to anyone past this season.

I don’t particular care for Amber either, he has similar traits to McLean in hyperbolizing and pumping up things and players that don’t warrant them and come across as contrived. And always has to get some rushed last witty or silly comments in before commercials or starts of periods, just like MacLean.

Tbqh, wouldn’t, as much of a running joke it’s been, it surprise me if he latched onto the Oilers in some regard? Katz and Lowe especially like latching onto trophies like that (see Nicholson) and they took John Shannon away from Sportsnet national and stuck him on the regional game panel for a year, the year Rogers Place opened. MacLean would have to move back out here though.
