A bit of a circuitous path to get here, but for those of you that predicted an Avalanche/Lightning final in pre-season, congrats. The most likely teams made it to the cup final.
*yawn*
Okay, let's go Avs. I think they are the superior team, but Tampa knows how to win and it sounds like Point will return in time for this series.
Avalanche in 7??? We'll see if they can take the next step.

I'm actually pretty interested in watching some of the games of this series. Should hopefully be some really good, entertaining hockey

The loss of Kadri is huge and might cost the Avs the cup, but I still think they get it done.

Routing for a Tampa win; I have no care about their series with the Flames twenty years ago and seeing a three peat dynasty would be amazing. Cooper doesn't get enough credit as a coach, that team can play any style of hockey.

I don't really have a preference. I've never liked the Avs, but I also dislike dynasties in sports. Should be a great series though and that's all I'm looking forward to. Tampa in 6.

Well 4 of those 10 were drafted by the same no good team...
It's pretty wild over 7 years they drafted 1,1,1,7,3,1,4
And still suck.

I hope this series lives up to the hype. On paper, it should be one of the better ones in the past while.

I hope this series lives up to the hype. On one hand I think the Avs are the best team but on the other hand it's hard to bet against the Lightning as they continue to get the job done.

Pretty happy either way honestly. Avs have a good team and are fun to watch. Tampa going for the first 3-peat since the 80’s Islanders is pretty cool too.

TB shut down Zibanejad/Panarin/Fox pretty well. Mackinnon/Rantanen/Makar is a step up though so we’ll see. They beat Shesterkin though, and Francouz is nowhere near his level.
Avs have not faced a goalie like Vasilevsky. When it counted they handled McDavid/Draisaitl. Kucherov is going to fin it tough going I think. I heard Point might play so that will be a big deal.

Hedman is still a large factor going sort of unsung amongst all the (deserved) Makar praise. Definitely capable of Lidstrom style shutdown and transition defending. I bet even Makar would still call him the best.

Vegas disagrees with there not being any shred of doubt, as Colorado is the favourite.

I expect that Kuemper will be the starter. He's better than Franky, but no where near the level of Vasky.

I'll take TB. It looked like St Louis was going to win until Kadri injured binnington. Tampa has an even better team with even better goal tending. Tampa also four lines deep, which limits the impact of Colorado's first pairing.
This is going to be one for the ages.

It's strange, I've been cheering against Tampa all playoffs so far, and I've been loath to see them win yet again, but now that they've made the finals after coming back from 0-2 against the Rangers, I'm kinda hoping they pull it off. It's been almost 40 years since we've seen a team win more than 2 in a row, and it's been that same length of time since there's been a team in an actual position to do so. The Oilers were the last team to make the finals more than 2 years in a row, but they lost their first go around, so even the mighty Oilers of the 80s were never in a position to do it.
Whoever wins this year, I'm just hoping for a series that goes to game 7 overtime. We haven't had a Stanley Cup final go to game 7 OT since 1954, so why not have the first finals after lockdowns and bubbles be one for the ages?
