I’d be happy with C. Kyrou. 60 points in 68 games for a D in the OHL is pretty solid.

For a kid who isn't getting drafted in the first round, Arizona is a great place to play. No pressure to win, no fans getting on your case, not much competition for roster spots. Best of all, as soon as you're good enough to demand a raise, they trade you to a real team.

Basically, it's like playing in the AHL while drawing an NHL salary.

If you're drafting Russians, do it. Helps save lives:

Anybody want to embed that tweet please?

Didn't see this thread at all! Here are my picks for Calgary 2022. For posterity, I want to see if I hit on any of them.

I think that they go for the best centre available at the first pick, from there I think that they target either a defenseman or size with the second pick, and the last pick they swing for the fences. This is assuming that they don't pick up any other picks.

#59 - Daniil Zhilkin, Jordan Gustafson or David Goyette
#177 - Rayan Bettahar
#219 - Samuel Savoie

Hopefully they find a guy that plays some games.

Hard to hit on drafts like this one with so few picks. Saying that I like our scouts so it's definitely possible

Might teams steer clear of drafting Russians, given the current geopolitical climate?

Getting a lesser brother is the Flames’ historical forte. Bure, Stone, Neidermayer, Granlund. Even Ritchie. Though arguably they broke out with Tkachuk.

When the Flames do have the greater brother, they tend to acquire the lesser brother:

Robyn Regehr - Richard Regehr
Dougie Hamilton - Freddie Hamilton
Matthew Tkachuk - Brady?

Wow. A lot to unpack there.

Fedotov is one of the best young goaltenders in the KHL, said a year ago that he was going to report to Philly, and was already penciled in as the backup to Hart.

Not only is Russia forcing military service, but is willing to send their starting goaltender from the Olympics to the front line, just to make a point.

This will be interesting to follow.

I'd say what he really needs is a dose of the medicine Khrushchev got. That's where his cronies get fed up with him, kick him out of office, and send him off to a dacha somewhere far out of the way under virtual house arrest. Then he can spend his remaining years chewing on his own humiliation.

One of Khrushchev's grandsons was asked what the former Premier did in retirement. He answered: ‘Grandfather cries.’ I think that would be a fitting ending for Putin.

I hope that Elias Salomonsson is available when the Flames pick.

Also wtaf are you even disagreeing with? There's few people on earth now who wouldn't agree with that given his actions, unless your only news source is Pravda lol.

Baffling and enormously stupid reply.

You would too if you'd traded away as many picks as he has
