My 13 year old daughter is so into this. Texted me from school the second the trailer dropped. It's really interesting. The appeal is equal amongst boys and girls from what I can tell. Pretty cool cuz I'm into these too.
What they're not interested in/talking about? Star Wars.
My daughter is almost 2 years old and I'm already looking forward to the day that I can sit with her and go through the entire Marvel movie catalog

I think women are participating more and more in nerd culture.
Ex.
How women are taking on the world of Dungeons and Dragons
“When I was younger, there were maybe four girls in the entire nerd club at university,” she says. “It was very much a boys’ club. I’m envious today of the nerd girls who can find (others) so easily.”
Ha I was just about to post that exact link. Great minds think alike, and then there is us.

Thanks, that’s a good article. I’m looking forward to seeing how her interests evolve over time and whether she stays connected to this stuff. She is also big time into Spiderman on the PS4 right now. Of course phases are big for kids this age. 6 months ago Fortnite was everything and that interest fell off a cliff.
I've been re-watching the Marvel movies with my wife that we caught in theaters originally, English is her 2nd language so watching them with subtitles lets her fill in a lot of stuff that she missed. Just finished with Thor Ragnarok and I forgot just how damn awesome that movie is. This scene at the 0:25 mark when Immigrant Song kicks in is one of the coolest scenes in movie history IMO

Any guesses on the kind of money this makes? Infinity War is the current record holder for Marvel movies by over 500m, being the only superhero movie to pass 2 billion worldwide. After it ended on such a dark cliffhanger I can only imagine the debut is going to shatter all records, and assuming it's as good as IW I could see it passing IW and The Force Awakens to sit #3 of all time. Maybe even #2 if it has long enough legs to get another 100m to pass Titanic
Aquaman absolutely crushing it in China right now, projected to make $90mill this weekend. Making it the number one movie in the world, despite being only open in China
Really good timing for Aquaman without any real competition. I will wait for Netflix on this one though, been burned by DC to many times already.

This is a movie that would probably be best in theatre with all the effects.
I agree.. but it's the time/money/energy trifecta lol. So very few times this all comes together for an activity, and I refuse to spend it on a studio that has continuously disappointed me. I will wait for the free Netflix watch, if it is good, I will go see the next DC movie. And let the cycle start all over again.
There is just to much competition out there to put out a crap product and expect people to keep coming back. When even Star Wars struggles in the theater you know that this is true.

With DC launching a streaming app in the US, it's only a matter of time before it comes to Canada and then it probably won't come out on Netflix. Reviews come out Tuesday, hopefully there overwhelmingly positive, I don't think they would release them early if they were going to be negative but you never know.

Wonderwoman was good. Plus I find the reviews for DC films tend to be painfully honest and you always know what you're getting into first.
Once the review embargo is fully lifted, we'll have a pretty good idea of what Aquaman will be like.
