I like it. Played well in Penticton and is having a rocking good season. Now we can have some fun watching he and Phillips in the scoring race and see who comes out on top. My guess, the elder Gawdin... because Phillips will be tearing up the world juniors.

So which ones from that group will remain with the flames past next year? Maybe Klimchuk?

Just thought you'd like to know that I sign this guy a lot in my EA franchises. Sometimes he turns into an NHLer but he always turns into a good AHL player.

I can see Poirier getting an extension, given his past demons, and his attempt to get his life back together. Klimchuk, is a decent probability as well.

None of the other guys, I would think.

Back in July, Gawdin was the only one of the try out guys that I thought was worthy of a contract. Just a smart player all the way around. You can never have enough players like that in the organization. Whether he develops into an NHL player or not remains to be seen, but he will be a useful player in the AHL moving forward.

Gawdin at the Gahden.

That'll be a game to watch for in the future.

Totally agree - liked him quite a bit in his draft eligible year - I really love his smarts, versatility, responsibility, and adaptability - bodes well for a future bottom 6 role as mentioned. Obvious low risk move, and might just end up with nice NHL regular out of it.

I like it. If you have the room to gamble on one of those, you do it ... that's how the Bolts got Tyler Johnson. You never know how they develop. The fact that they already know him is a positive, and it doesn't hurt that he's a right shot. Can't have too many of those.

All but Smith and Carroll is my guess.

There's no chance in hell the Flames would let Klimchuk walk. He's a "guaranteed probability" of being qualified and re-signed.

Gawdin was very impressive at Development Camp. This isn't a surprise.

It's probably tagged as a favour to everyone because it's a large pic. Can we please let the whining about the hiding of pics and gifs go? Especially since there's a whole thread for that topic?

I only browse CP on my phone, so Tapatalk autoresizes pictures. The recent blitz internet-wide on posting pictures of women (not just CP) has made me suspect actions like tagging this picture NSFW are to not objectify them, and not because they are a large image.

Watched the Swift Current Broncos and the Medicine Hat Tigers last night.

Swift Current has the best line in the WHL with Gawdin, Steenbergen and Heponiemi. Combined they have 144 points in 19 games; Gawdin has 42 of those points.

Gawdin reminds me a lot of former Tiger, and Flames draft pick, Zach Fischer, he is a very heads up smart player, smooth skater. The Tigers outplayed the Broncos last night, out-shooting them 42 - 19, but the Broncos made the best of their opportunities, with the top line in on all 4 goals; Gawdin had 2 assists and looked great - really like this signing by the Flames

3 points tonight for the kid tonight. 56 points now in 28 games, exactly 2PPG.
