I think the Miss St. Coach blew the 4th quarter more than anything.
Pulled an Andy Reid.

Bama finally getting some stops was pretty helpful too. Lucky to win today though, imo.
If there's one thing we can all agree on, drilling the last play hail mary right over the endzone is grade A work.

Damn Miami put the boots to ND bad. Assuming they don't lose to their next two "trap game" opponents the the ACC title game against Clemson should be great.

Great day of football. Going to be interesting to see the new playoff rankings.
1, 3 and 6 lost. Who drops and by how much? Who moves in?
I think Georgia stays in the top four. Bama is 1. ND drops out. Miami? Not sure, their SoS except for stomping ND, wasnt great. Oklahoma is the best offensive team going, defense is their weakness. Clemson stays in the top 4. And then theres Wisconsin.

My experience was pretty fun all in all, notwithstanding the beat down.
STH next to us said town hasn't been this jacked in 15 years for Canes FB. In fact, he sounded a bit bitter about it. Since they only support winners in Miami.
Tailgating was insane. Every car seemed to bring one of these 8x8 pop up tents and the parking spaces are designed to allow and encourage tailgating. Atmosphere was buzzing, people were super friendly.
We had club seats and the lounge was great. Sat 40 yard line behind ND bench. Seats were amazing. They are right in front of the lower bowl suites.
Crowd was defeaning in the first half. Just buzzing. Sadly by the second half there were a fair number of empty seats in the upper deck and the volume just wasn't the same. Although most of the crowd stayed to the bitter end to enjoy the beat down.
I'll post video maybe at some point.

Bama is a lock if they run the table. If they lost in the SEC final then someone else might get screwed (hello Oklahoma).
Clemson's loss is essentially forgiven. They run the table and they are in.
Miami - run the table and they are in.
Oklahoma is on the bubble, they should be in if the win out however.
Wisconsin should make it if they also win out but that means someone above get's passed over. Miami will (should?) play Clemson in the ACC championship game so it could be the loser of that game.

It's very likely Alabama can lose their last two games. Auburn is playing quite well and the Iron Bowl is in Auburn this year. If Alabama runs the table of scheduled games, they're going to run the table all the way to the NC.

I find it so bizarre a team can get to the NC and not even win their own conference.
Something very wrong with that scenario IMO.

Well do you want the best teams or the conference winners? They're generally not the same.

My thought is that if you cant win your conference, you cannot be considered the best team.
It makes the regular season results somewhat pointless in certain cases, which is what the PO system was to get rid of.
I understand fully that Bama is the best team in the country, and its very possible they dont win the SEC. That doesn't mean they should get in anyways IMO. You want in? You best win the biggest conf. game that you have been aiming for since spring.
They need to go to 8 teams IMO...it would end all kinds of debate. Its easier to leave out a 9th place 2 loss team than to possibly leave out an undefeated conference champion which would happen if there was a team in every power conf. to go undefeated.
There is no perfect system though, thats not a debate.

Maybe not the "best" team, but you can absolutely still be considered one of the four best teams.

I watched the UNLV-New Mexico game last night. College football is so much better than the NFL for the most part it seems this year. This would be the equivalent of the Bears against the Texans, and there is no chance I would actually watch more than 5 minutes of that game, but i was compelled by the fact that it was senior night for New Mexico. i was even more compelled by UNLV who lost to Howard earlier this year, in what was the worst loss ever in college football as they were 43 point favourites, as they were 4-6 going in but had a chance to win their last two and be bowl eligible.
It was a back and forth game. New Mexico had 3 rushers go over 100 yards, UNLV two. New Mexico scored with just over a minute left, but UNLV returned the favour and then the 2 point conversion and New Mexico was done as they had attempted 2 passes at that point.
UNLV needs to beat Nevada next week to be bowl eligible.

Stanford/ Notre Dame
Washington/Washington State
Alabama/Auburn is a huge game for playoff and bowl implications.
Another outstanding rivalry that doesn't get the hype tha some others do is Clemson/South Carolina. Those two schools HATE one another.
Today is USC/UCLA which is usually a good if not great game, but i have a feeling USC throttles the Bruins this time to end their season at 10-2 and hope like hell they get a big bowl game which they likely will.

Forgot about Clemson - South Carolina.
Fla - Fla State and Texas - Texas A&M (which dont even play next weekend), used to be good, but they're all having a terrible year.
