There's a small chance that there are MLAs that are worth keeping somewhere on the backbench, but his entire cabinet is made up of people who are responsible for a lot of damage to Alberta. There are a solid 20 people that I want to see gone today.

Do we get a more progressive leader? Or a far right nut job? Or a party split?

I’m going to go with far right nut job. This is the UCP after all.

So there will obviously be former Wildrosers like Jean putting their hat into the ring, but it'll be interesting to see who from the cabinet runs. Maybe Toews has the least baggage?

Doug Schweitzer potentially? Probably the most moderate option.

Yeah, I could see that. Makes some sense with Calgary being the likely battleground in the next election. I think Jean would win head-to-head against Schweitzer.

Good he did a horrible job, and was completely out of touch.

Will be interesting to see who runs in the leadership race.

I do expect a separatist movement within the party.

So he steps down. New UCP leader blames *everything* on him. Rides to another conservative majority in the province.

I don't have a lot of ability to follow Alberta politics down here in Florida, but I know for certain that this is good news.
