Good evening ladies and gentleman and welcome to Game 7 of the CPHL Stanley Cup finals between the Dallas Stars and Washington Capitals.

The Caps are trying to complete their Cinderella run after squeaking into the playoffs and riding a wave of momentum to the finals. However, they have been unable to finish off a Stars team that has been pushed to the brink, but not over…yet.

Your starting goalies….for the Stars its Juuse Saros and for the Caps it’s Tristan Jarry.

We are early in the first, and not much happening for either team so far.

Face off is deep in the Caps zone, it’s played out to centre by Washington.

Erik Johnson gathers it in at his own blue line and starts forwards.

OH MY Johnson is ROCKED by Alex Radulov. Giordano picks up the loose puck and feeds Sanford. He’s got time down the right side. HE SHOOTS AND SCORES!

ZACH SANFORD and Washington is on the board. It’s 1-0 Caps!

Six and a half to go here in the first, and it’s been a pretty even period, though the
Stars have started to carry the play. Face off is in the neutral zone. Danault wins another but Copp takes it back.

Copp into the Caps zone, he drops it back to Ristoalainen. He goes point to point to Lindblom. Big clapper from the point and HE SCORES.

Oskar Limblom with his third of the post-season. We are tied up 1-1!

After 1 we are tied 1-1. Shots on goal favor the Stars 9-6.

Early the 2nd and so far it’s been the Stars carrying the play. Jarry has been sharp, stopping Barkov on back to back opportunities.

Face off in the Caps zone: Faksa v. Backstrom, and Faksa wins it. But the Caps can’t get out of their own zone, let’s see if the Stars make them pay.

Here’s Konency curling down low in the corner. He spots Backstrom behind that – who feeds it out on front. HE SHOOTS AND SCORES! Ondrej Palat! What a playoff! It’s 2-1 Stars!

2nd period action continues and after giving up that goal, Tristan Jarry has continued to keep his team in this one. Here’s Danault now carrying the puck into the Stars zone, oh he’s crunched by Palat. Those two have had a thing going all night long.

Giordano though gathers up the puck and sends it across to Iafallo who rips it.

Oh! It’s Danault getting a piece of that one to get it past Saros. We are tied again 2-2!!!

Still in the 2nd and right now it’s all Dallas. It feels like the Caps are just trying to hang on and get to the room. But here come the Stars again….there’s a shot, wide of the night. No Backstrom shoots! Save Jarry! Guentzel shoots! Jarry AGAIN!

THEY SCORE!

Guentzel on his own rebound gives the Stars the lead back. It’s 3-2.

Oh the Caps look shaken. Has midnight struck?
Of the faceoff and here come the Stars again.

Hertl takes a shot….Jarry makes another save trying to keep his team alive. But there’s only so much eh can do.

Off the face off Backstrom shoots, blocked by Sanford. Right back to Backstrom.

HE SHOOTS AND SCORES. BACKSTROM!

4-2 Dallas!

Late in the 2nd and a big missed opportunity by the Capitals who fail to capitalize on a penalty to Ryan Graves. So the Stars continue to lead this one 4-2.

The Stars coming down the ice. It’s Brodin, stepping over the blueline, he finds Copp. Shot! Save made to Jarry but he gives up another rebound.

LINDBLOM SCORES! SECOND OF THE GAME.

It’s 5-2 Dallas. They have one hand on the CPHL Championship!

5-2 after the 2nd. Shots on goal in the middle frame 18-12 for the Stars.
