I was laughing at myself since the beginning of the episode. It would have made me look.even more stupid to see Romeo get voted out. He has to be everyone's final two plan.

I thought it was funny that Mike planted the seed to get rid of Omar, and it took a bit of convincing to get Maryanne on board. Then she went full warpath, claimed the move as hers, and Mike totally backed out. You created this, Mike. I'm not sure he even recognized that.

Mike is the Godfather archetype, he has been very good at threatening people who think about crossing him and calling hits without getting his hands dirty.

Well that sucks. My Canadian boy Omar is gone. He played a really solid game, too bad Lindsey didn't give him her idol. I know she didn't want it back in circulation but now she might be in trouble. Might have been the smarter move to give it to Omar.
Romeo is this season's player that goes to the final and doesn't get a single vote from the jury, isn't he?

Just finished watching the latest episode. Great win for Mike (through Maryanne). I’m pretty much convinced that they are at the final with Jonathon & Lindsey making fire for the 3rd position. Those idols guarantee them top 4.
- Lindsay wins elimination again.
- Jonathan’s demise is once again foiled
- Omar did you forget to play something?
Omar thought he had it all in control and then goes home with a souvenir idol. This gives final blows to KooenayFlamesFan & calgarybornnraised.
So with 5 players left we have:
2 players left: csnarpy & Cheese
1 player left: transplant99, trackercowe, Savardandjokinen & Regulator75
2 picks same player: surferguy
Current Standings:
1. KootenayFlamesFan - Omar Zaheer / Swati Goel
2. transplant99 - Jonathan Young / Marya Sherron
3. csnarpy - Mike Turner / Maryanne Oketch
4. Fuzz - Hai Giang / Lydia Meredith
5. trackercowe - Lindsay Solashewich / Drea Wheeler*
6. dino7c - Swati Goel / Daniel Strunk
7. Weitz - Tori Meehan / Chanelle Howell
8. GirlySports - Daniel Strunk / Jenny Kim
9. Yoho - Zach Wurtenberger / Zach Wurtenberger
10. Savardandjokinen - Rocksroy Bailey / Jonathan Young
11. calgarybornnraised - Marya Sherron / Omar Zaheer
12. Cheese - Maryanne Oketch / Mike Turner
13. White Tiger - Jenny Kim / Hai Giang
14. jroc - Lydia Meredith / Tori Meehan
15. Regulator75 - Chanelle Howell / Lindsay Solashewich
16. surferguy - Romeo Escobar / Romeo Escobar
17. bigtmac19 - Drea Wheeler / Rocksroy Bailey

I was just thinking that. It would be awesome if they just said whoever takes Romeo as the GOAT automatically loses and the money defaults to the fire winner.
I would just love to see a top 3 that deserved to be there. Mary Ann really raised her stock with that move. Outside Romeo I think everyone has a legit shot.

I’m pretty sure she gave it to him but convinced him it may be wise not to play it so it doesn’t go back into circulation. The way she was looking at him at idle decision time leads me to believe that he had it and she left the decision up to him.

That might be Maryanne's game-winning move if she wins this season. Omar was the kingpin who orchestrated every move post-merge and she took him out. The jury loved that move and knew it was all her.
I can see everyone left except Romeo winning this season, they've played solid games.

I want Romeo to be at final three just to see what he actually has to say to the jury. I mean the guy literally gets 20 seconds of screen time an episode.
Survivor twist: Romeo wins and they never show us why. It’ll be like all the questions about Lost that are never answered… it just happens.

I think Maryanne and Lindsey have to be the favourites to win the game right now. Mike is also a legitimate contender. Jonathons social game has been extremely weak in comparison to everyone else and Romeo might go down as the most useless player to ever make the final tribal.

Ahhhh ok, I missed that. Thanks. If so Omar is a bit of a dummy. Or just over confident. Like he said, Survivor confident. Too bad.

I was wondering if Omar would end up being 'too social for his own good'.

Wow! Very unexpected winner.
Triple-header Finale!
Round 1
- Mike out plays Jonathan & Lindsay to get immunity.
- Mike keeps his idol promise to Mary-Ann
- Romeo fakes his way to the final 4
Lindsay is the last one to be voted out and so trackercowe & Regulator75 days numbered.
Round 2
- Romeo keeps his concentration in check and wins immunity.
- Romeo doesn’t listen to Mike and decides to take Mary-Ann to the final 3
- Fire Battle: Mike vs Jonathan
- Mike knows fires!
Jonathon’s ashes are laid to rest thus transplant99 & Savardandjokinen are laid to rest.
Final Round
- Mike the sure thing?
- Mary-Anne surprises the jury (and me)
- Romeo thinking (“crap I should have listened to Mike”)
3rd: Romeo (surferguy’s double pick finally comes to an end)
2nd: Mike ( csnarpy & Cheese take first hits… I wonder who wins?)
1st: Mary-Anne
An improbable finish gives csnarpy & Cheese an equal share of $1000000 of fake money!!
Congrats to the winners!!
This turned out to be a better season in the end then from how it started.
Final Standings:
1. KootenayFlamesFan - Omar Zaheer / Swati Goel
2. transplant99 - Jonathan Young / Marya Sherron
3. csnarpy - Mike Turner / Maryanne Oketch
4. Fuzz - Hai Giang / Lydia Meredith
5. trackercowe - Lindsay Solashewich / Drea Wheeler*
6. dino7c - Swati Goel / Daniel Strunk
7. Weitz - Tori Meehan / Chanelle Howell
8. GirlySports - Daniel Strunk / Jenny Kim
9. Yoho - Zach Wurtenberger / Zach Wurtenberger
10. Savardandjokinen - Rocksroy Bailey / Jonathan Young
11. calgarybornnraised - Marya Sherron / Omar Zaheer
12. Cheese - Maryanne Oketch / Mike Turner
13. White Tiger - Jenny Kim / Hai Giang
14. jroc - Lydia Meredith / Tori Meehan
15. Regulator75 - Chanelle Howell / Lindsay Solashewich
16. surferguy - Romeo Escobar / Romeo Escobar
17. bigtmac19 - Drea Wheeler / Rocksroy Bailey

Maryanne did a really good job explaining her strategy to the jury.

Maryanne is a deserving winner. Did the best job of explaining her strategy to the jury, connected with the jurors the most, and took out the smartest player in the game in Omar. I did not think she had a chance in the beginning and wrote her off as a kid with little life experience, but she really matured as the game went on.
I was thinking that Maryanne should've played her idol for Lindsay to get rid of Jonathan so she could have a stronger resume. But pulling out her idol in front of the jury and explaining her thought process really paid off, the jury was mindblown.
Mike played a strong game and took out the two strongest physical threats in Jonathan and Lindsay, but he didn't own his game enough.
Was very surprised at how Jonathan dropped the ball twice. Couldn't believe he lost to Romeo and thought he would rebound in the fire-making challenge.
Season 42 >> 41 easily. Jonathan, Lindsay, Mike, and Omar will probably be back in future seasons.

Fricken' Romeo. Well done, Surferguy. I know he didn't win, but final 3 is as good as it would get for that guy. Who works with women, if you are not aware.

Lucked out with the Maryanne pick, had Lindsay as my primary and Mike as second.
OK season, it still is far behind Australia's version.

Survivor needs to focus on casting and editing and not worry about the stupid twists and turns. They are dumb and add nothing. The show is at its best when the cast is compelling.

Winner never won a single challenge
Not sure what Romeo was thinking...of the final 4 I would have bet everything I own Maryanne would get the jury votes.
Season got better but was still pretty terrible, last of the Hal assed covid season I think.

Romeo's only hope was to force a vote split between Jonathan and Mike. Bringing Maryanne was not wise.
