Here's a list I put together quite a few months ago of this summers UFA crop
Some players will inevitably re-sign with there teams and the scraps be available for bidding.
Slim pickings as you can see.
Even if you're not in the playoff hunt: If you want to avoid gambling on batches and set yourself up for next season this is your reminder that 2 heavyweights are available in Ovechkin and Horvat.

Dangling Quinn Hutson out there.
Too good for the AHL, but edmonton won't play more than one rookie a season. I think that the coach and GM get fired for mismanagement, and this could end up a valuable prospect.
Looking for either : high 60s UFA winger with decent CHK and DEF. Would do this along with a 3rd round pick swap. Or : someone with term or RFA that another team has lost interest in, that could fill that 12th or 13th forward role for this season and next.
Looking for an "in case of injury" player for the playoffs, but also a small bit of futures value, as i think Hutson is a real one.
