Habs in 7

Price gets in the Knights' heads and their goal scoring woes that creeped in during last year's playoffs return

But they did. You cannot discount that.

Also, Vegas barely got by Minnesota in round one and looked terrible against Colorado in the 1st game, then they got hot. Sounds a lot like Montreal. They're just playing well at the right time, and when you combine that with great goaltending, that will win a lot of playoff games.

I wouldn't be so quick to assume Montreal get's trounced.

Vegas in five, because they're probably going to take their foot off the gas at some point. But this shouldn't ever be in doubt. They aren't playing the same sport.

I moved to montreal a year and a half ago. Honestly there's been low expectations for this team and the pandemic had really put a lid on things (Legault not letting us outside beyond 8pm for quite some time). If they do well here Montreal is going to work off some pent-up energy!

Having watched the party & impromptu fireworks exhibition after they won I can only imagine, win or lose, that Montreal is in for a show.

Only one western team in the conference finals, and it's a recent expansion team. What a bs season this was.

I don't think MTL can beat Vegas 4 times but if Price is playing at his best he can definitely lead MTL towards 1 or 2 wins. It just doesn't seem like MTL has the depth to compete against Vegas

When watching the two series it seemed like the FF button was stuck on during
the Colorado / LV series. And regular play in MTL / WPG.

The heart (for my dad...huge MTL fan) says Habs in 7...

Reality...LV, probably done in 5.

Vegas in 3. They curbstomp the Habs so hard, they forfeit game 4.

could that be because Colorado doesn't play defence? Could a team such as Montreal that has the best goalie in hockey and firm commitment to team defence show Vegas a much harder time? I imagine Vegas ends up winning but wouldn't be surprised by Montreal stunning everyone and winning a tight series either.

I agree anything can happen in the playoffs. In my opinion Vegas, Colorado and Minnesota are all better than any team in the North. That being said, again anything can happen. But the following are true statements in my opinion

1) the Jets beat a terrible hockey team in Round One. I would guess any team that made the playoffs could have defeated the team the Jets played
2) the Leafs suck in the playoffs and it seems like manifest destiny that they will not win a playoff series, let alone a Stanley Cup
3) In the second round, the Habs defeated the team who defeated the worst team in the playoffs in the first round

And so what will be the difference when they play Montreal? Red hot Price is a scary thing to face.

I’ll say Vegas in 6. Price will win at least 2 games all by himself.

Vegas is an extremely overwhelming team. The biggest thing I've taken from watching them is they are relentless. Hard to say Toronto or Winnipeg are even remotely close to the type of intensity Vegas exhibits shift after shift. Price will not save the Canadiens if the Knights keep up their current play in my opinion. If the line of Toffoli - Suzuki - Caufield can keep the fire under their ass they can make it a series, but I think this one will be over quickly.

We'll never know, but it would be interesting to see what Price's play-off stats would look like if he played for Pittsburgh and Vegas.

Vegas is like Montreal, they can play that extremely good systems game, they have a extremely good goalie. They can play at tempo, but they are just a deeper team then Montreal. Their top players are better.

The prediction - Pain
The length of the series - long enough for Vegas to hook a crane up to Montreal's collective underpants to perform a 3 story wedgie.

I'm predicting a Vegas sweep.

But lest we forget the 2019 Lightning. That team was better than this Vegas team, and they were handily swept by an unassuming CBJ team.

You just can't dismiss the Price factor. He may already be in the heads of the Vegas players.

Again I'm predicting a sweep, but also would not be shocked if Habs pull off an upset. Price looks very motivated.
