Good. Nothing against Edwards or Gelinas, but I think some new blood was needed behind the bench besides Darryl. Hopefully this also means the guys from Stockton get a closer look next year.

The hurricanes were awful under Muller. Not super impressed by this, and even less by the longterm concept of having him as HC.
Why does our organization seemingly always draw from the same wells? Muller got canned to be replaced by Peters.

Some guys make good assistants but not good head coaches (Geoff Ward for example). He wasn’t hired to be a head coach so his record in Carolina isn’t relevant here.
I don’t think there’s any reason to be upset about this. Let’s wait and see how it turns out first.

Darryl wasn’t as bad a GM as people make him out to be.
Yes, he wasn’t good at drafting.
He built a team that won a division, went to a Final, and should’ve won another division.
It got away from him at the end.

My two cents: Darryl is the HC. Muller, Huska and MacLean are all potential future HCs. I personally think very highly of both Huska and MacLean. They both seem very intelligent and good with people.

This is the most complete Flames coaching staff in decades most likely
A good coaching staff and a true #1 goalie are the most important pieces to any competitive team, no reason to not be excited about this offseason
Muller was a guest on 31 Thoughts in May, podcast titled 'The Muller Report' it's worth a listen
