Sabres add veteran D presence x2
Buffalo made two moves to add some experienced leadership on the back end. We’ve been running with Bortuzzo and Olofsson as our third pairing for most of the season. I’m not sure why it’s been working but I thought, in case they fall back to earth, I’d better shore things up now.
Vancouver sends Oduya to Buffalo for a 3rd
Nashville sends Beauchemin to Buffalo for a 3rd
Both defensemen are rated in the 90s for D. They are also in their late thirties and on expiring contracts. If we aren’t going to score a ton of goals than we need to get better at keeping them out of our own net. This should help.
