Markstrom calls out team in Media.
Didn't see this posted anywhere yet.
Markstrom "I'm not good enough, and we got a lot of guys on our team that's not good enough either to be in this league. It's embarrassing"

If Markstrom so strongly believes that they have more to give then I think he is likely quite sorely mistaken.

So what you're saying is that I was right.
Put it this way: I didnt think they'd be above Ottawa or Buffalo. Maybe not even Edmonton.

Except Markstrom is no better than an AHLer too. He can't change things no matter what he yells out.

It's sort of hard to tell on a terrible team, which is what they've been since he's played real minutes for them (post Luongo). Adjusting for that, he seems to be a .910ish goalie, and league average has been .913 for a couple years. So a below average starter seems like a fair assessment of what he is.

Even the Sedins were aware that the Canucks was gonna be terrible this year. What is Markstrom on about? This is who you are!

He realizes he's playing for the Canucks and not the Predators right? IMO the Canucks have probably been a little better this season than expected as it's a roster largely comprised of junk.

He seems quite aware of that. First he called himself out, and then added, ‘we got a lot of guys on our team that's not good enough either to be in this league.’ In other words, the roster is largely comprised of junk.

He's not wrong. The team isn't good enough, they are quite bad. They have some good young players coming up and I think they can compete again in 2-3 years time. They have Juolevi, Petterson, Demko, Boeser, Horvat and a few of the same prospects that every team has (the medium to long shot) like Dahlin and Kole. A few more years at the bottom and a bit of luck in the draft and I think that they could be a contender again. They are not out of tunnel but there is light at the end.

Even bad teams need to play hard, and Markstrom was calling them out for dogging it.
It seems to have worked, they are beating Dallas 6-0 on the road.

They should probably give this guy the 'C'. Seems to have motivated his team.

He just shutout one of the highest scoring teams in the L. So at least for today, he deserves a lot of respect.
