Severed is my favorite song of 2018 to date. Love it.

Kind of tangentially related but Mark Trombino, who was in Drive Like Jehu with Jon Reis, opened up a pretty cool punk-rock themed donut store in Los Angeles. The names of their donuts are awesome:

That’s pretty cool. Stiff Little Butterfingers is my favourite. I’d probably pass on the GG Almond.

As bands who emerged in the 1990s have reanimated themselves for reunion tours and albums in recent years, a trend is emerging: the truly great ones are arguably better now than they ever were. Older, wiser and more at ease with themselves and the social dynamics of their bands, the music is heightened, fuelled by experience, hindsight, and perhaps a greater sense that in life, time is precious, and #### needs to get done while you can.

Hot Snakes fit this bill, infusing Jericho Sirens with more power and urgency than any of their three previous albums.

The 90s revival continues. The three surviving members of Treepeople have reunited. They are playing in Vancouver this week. I hope there is a new album some point down the road.

Loving Public Access TV's second album. They get compared to the Strokes alot but I don't hear it myself. I think they sound alot like the Push Kings and Everybody Else, both bands I adore.

Young Fathers @ Barrowlands, Glasgow, 24 Mar

Tonight's hour-long explosion at the Barrowlands is a manic reminder of why Young Fathers are Scotland’s most exciting cultural export

The now sober Ace Frehley is set to release Anomaly, his first solo album in two decades.

Frehley recently took a moment to talk with Superchunk/Mountain Goats drummer (and onetime Kiss Army member) Jon Wurster. Frehley will also be guest editing magnetmagazine.com all this week.

I'm really glad he's doing well. I've posted this before but this cover of "2000 Man" with Ace on vocals is one of the best things Kiss ever did.

I'll probably pick up the new record when I see them next week. I'm glad they're still going strong.

My favourite new record of the past week is "Combat Sports" by The Vaccines.

BREAKING: #LindseyBuckingham has quit Fleetwood Mac, ending a three-decade run with the band.

He'll be replaced by Mike Campbell, longtime lead guitarist for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and Crowded House frontman Neil Finn.
