I wonder if NE, KS and OK are the least frequently visited by us.

I can't find a list that shows all 50 states, but this one from StatsCan has the top-15: https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/t1/tbl1...pid=2410003901

Not surprisingly, the states that share a border with Canada are high, as are the states with big tourist draws like Florida, California, Nevada, and Hawaii. New Hampshire, Idaho, and Alaska are the only states with a land border with Canada that aren't in the top-15. Texas and Illinois are the two most-populous states outside the top-15.

If I count every state I've either lived in, visited for more than a day and driven through, then yes. I win easily.

I get 312
California
Texas
Louisiana
Arkansas
Mississippi
Alabama
Florida
Tennessee
Kentucky
Ohio
Michigan
New York
Massachusets
New Jersey
Pennsylvania
Delaware
Maryland
West Virginia
DC
Virginia

3 isn't going to get me there.

Guess I set the low-bar for the thread, though.

Can New Jersey be counted if you travelled from Manhattan to Newark airport and/or passed through their waters on the way to the Statue of Liberty?

If so I’m at 200. Would get to 247 counting layovers.

Challenge Level - states where you had intimate relations. +10 points with a local.

411 for me. I look forward to being a dictator with that much popular support.

On Day One, I erase the Tampa Bay Lightning's 2004 Cup win and award it to the Flames.

The rest of the time I'll just golf and let my various secretaries take care of things and hire social media experts to make me look awesome online.

Of all the States I can remember, I'm at a 269 split. But my parents and extended family did a LOT of driving in/through the States when I was younger, and I know I'm missing/forgetting States that I've spent a night(s) in.

So I'd have to take it to a legal battle to win based on vague memories.

If I do every state that I've stayed overnight in, I have 404:

If you added states that I've had day trips you can add 17 more (in blue):

Montana (shopping)
Idaho (shopping)
Wisconsin (Brewers game)

Driven through or had airport stops adds 41 more (in red):

South Dakota (stopped for lunch)
Nebraska (stopped for lunch)
Kansas (stopped for dinner)

Delaware (pure drive through)
Rhode Island (pure drive through)
Indiana (pure drive through)
Iowa (pure drive through)

Utah (airport stopover)

For a total of 475.

286 total. 151 picked up on a cross country road trip we did a few years ago. Calgary to Winnipeg and then southern route around great lakes to to east coast before coming up into Canada and returning home through the provinces).

Squeaked out a win just barely with 272.

For states where I have at least walked around - 344.

Troutman's criterion 174 - no bonuses.

I've visited every state but Alaska and that gives me 528.

Funny because I am so close to Alaska right now(in Kitimat) but won't be going.
