In his free agent years Iggy stinks at picking cup winners so I don't mind if he goes somewhere else.

One thing that was interesting in that radio bit with Francis was his suggestion that Conroy is currently a big advocate of thinking Iginla still adds value. He just questioned whether Treliving shares that view or not. I wonder how much of an influence / factor Conroy is if it's true there's some interest from the Flames side at present.

Sign and trade? Sign Jarome and trade Francis to whoever technoviking works for now. That way we can celebrate in era-appropriate fashion with ever goal Iggy scores on the way to the cup.

Not sure the history between those two, but Francis has had this anti-Iggy vibe for a while now.

No history, I don't think. Eric Francis is a contrarian journalist, he's looking to rile the fan base up for clicks. This can be very bad in a small sports city like Calgary because he has and will continue to turn small/non issues into major sports stories that cause lots of anger and unrest in both the fans and team itself.
He's very successful at it.

I for one would be happy to see him terminated. He's generating interest in the flames using the wrong methods and for the wrong reasons. I can handle any other media personality. Boomer, Warrener, Kerr, Steinberg, whatever, but I literally start seething every time I hear Francis speak or read one of his articles.

Unfortunately, people buy what guys like him sell without even knowing it. I mean every time we go nuts over some stupid thing he's said we're giving him hits.
Hell, I'm literally supporting his role in this city with these posts.

Yeah. I mean have you guys heard his radio ads with Kerr? He knows he's the big neggy nelly in town and he's just soaking up the attention it generates. The impression that I get is he thinks people only get irked at his material because they're not as educated in the game or on the "inside" like he likes to believe he is.
Pretty sure iggy squeezed his wife's behind at a team event with the way he speaks of iginla. It's hilariously irrational.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't get paid a royalty based on how many times his name is mentioned on CP.

Bennett needs to sign so we dont have any hold outs like last year, Because I still think Iginla would not be signed until that contract is settled

Jarome has made his bank and appears to be doing well financially. Still competitive, but from reports he's zen with moving on from the NHL.
Would love to see him lead the Olympic team.

Jarome Iginla's 2017-18 season:
- Sits out first few months
- Captains Canada at the Olympics
- after the Olympics, he signs with a contender
- chases a cup one last time

Ugh...the fact the guy is still in the business is ridiculous. George Johnson lost his job and Eric Francis is still doing 5mins of research and spouting off in a dream position. I know life's not fair, but eventually he has to be found out.
It makes Calgary look like a rink a dink small town the fact that he keeps bouncing around with his act. I actually hope the companies that employ his morning show intelligence go broke first for force feeding him to Calgarians.
