Yup! All of the named plots are sites for building a city.

We are not reserving areas for people, it will just be first come, first serve when you join the region.

Great Works are huge projects you can undertake in cooperation with your neighboring cities. The current Great Works in the game are:

•Arcology:
Effect: Provides workforce, students and shoppers to all cities in region.
Requirements (as of beta): 2,800 tons of Metal, 1,000 tons of Alloy and 60,000 crates of TVs.
Unlocked by: Having at least one city in the region with 58,000 or more residents.

•International Airport:
Effect: Brings large amounts of tourists and helps industry transport freight throughout the region.
Requirements (as of beta): 2,000 tons of Metal, 1,500 tons of Alloy and 250,000 barrels of Crude Oil.
Unlocked by: Having a municipal airport in the region which handled at least 100 tourists.

•Space Center:
Effect: Boosts to education and tourism.
Requirements (as of Beta): 1,400 tons of Alloy, 170,000 barrels of Fuel and 40,000 crates of computers.
Unlocked by: Having a University with a School of Engineering with completed research in the Region.

•Solar Farm:
Effect: Provides large quantities of cheap and clean energy to the region.
Requirements (as of Beta): 1,200 tons of Alloy, 115,000 crates of Plastic and 45,000 crates of processors.
Unlocked by: Having a university with a School of Science with completed research in the Region.

BTW: I have a 25 person vent server we can use. Unless people don't think a vent server would be useful to help plan and build our cities.

My buddy got it for WoW, but I'm an admin and there are plenty of channels.

If it's an issue with him, and it shouldn't be, I can always pop for one.

So I see TITAN GORGE with 11 people and VIRIDIAN WOODS with 9.

Each Region has 16 area to build cities. Does this mean there is still room for more people for each region?

edit: just verified that the vent is a 25 slot vent, and we can use it. I'll PM the vent info to people, that request it, on release day.

I noticed during the beta tonight that there was a chat function built in now, although it may be tied to your friend list on Origin as opposed to players in your current region. Just throwing it out there for those that are not comfortable with Vent.

I'm wondering if there is a way we can have the two regions compete against each other...

This way it will encourage cities in the region to work together.

If we can't compete directly, we should be able to post some stats like total regional population, GDP etc. To see which region is truly the best.

I'm not sure on this until we get the game but I definitely think we could compete by posting our respective region's stats in this thread!

Well... it depends. If you want the most amazing edition, it is only available on Origin. It is $85 and has a $20 off coupon for a future purchase (this is a very limited coupon though) if you pre-order right now.

You can choose to play alone, join a region, or start one. If you choose to join a region, you can choose between a list of open regions made public, or click on a "Friends" tab and see open slots in regions your friends are playing in.

I just did this and it now looks like its 15 bucks off, with my total to be purchased at 44.99. But I can't complain about 15 off either.

From what I understand, Nehkara and I will need to invite you to the specific region. In order to do that we need to be friends on Origin. So make sure you add either myself or Nehkara as friends in Origin so we can add you to the region.
