Denver often exceeds expectations in my mind, based on good defence, good running attack, and the best home field advantage in football.

By what measure? By winning % over the last 10 years they are 10th.

My superbowl this year is that the Seahawks and their idiot coach don't make the playoffs this year. Anyone else can win the bowl!

But since Manning left the Bronco's have not had mediocre play at QB. I agree that Flacco would need to have a bit of a bounce back, but I do think that he can play better than Case Keenum, and that with better coaching could be enough for the Bronco's to be that team who end up with 10 wins.
Now to be clear I'm not going out and better money on this, it's my odd ball prediction. Every year someone surprises in the NFL, and I'm guessing it will be the Bronco's who are better than people think.

It's a bit of a misconception that Flacco is better than Keenum. Statistically they are very similar players;

That Super Bowl win was a long time ago. I think the Broncos are every bit the 6-8 win team that they have been projected as they still have issues on the offensive line and their receivers don't scare anyone. As has been the trend there will probably be a worst to first team but I don't think it will come from the AFC West.

Their record at home over the last few years has been middling at best.

Good point, but maybe they were worse than a middling team. Hard to separate all that out, but chart above tries to do that.

Well it's officially a disaster. I really do believe something is not right in AB's head. His behaviour over the last year is worse than anything TO ever did. He's totally unhinged.

The absolute worst part of this AB #### show is when he gets cut and goes to New England and falls in line.

Tomlin hasn't got enough credit for keeping him in line for so long.
once he does get onto the field, you just know he'll turn on Carr quickly.

Also did the Bills ever dodge a bullet by AB not wanting to be there. All kidding aside he clearly needs some psychological and medical help, even one more season of taking shots to the head will be devastating for this guy.

The Raiders guy for the Athletic says he had to be held back by teammates. Have to wonder how long before Mayock and Gruden have enough.

Gruden has full control so the real question is who will he choose between Mayock and Brown? Seems an obvious choice, but even as insane as AB is he's still their best player by a good margin.

What a clown show. He’s taken the diva WR schtick to a whole other level. I hope he gets cut, never finds his footing, and rides off into the sunset.

I don't know if that's true either. I did a little research during the offseason and the best homefield advantages over the last 3-5 years based on winning percentages were:
New Orleans
Kansas City
Baltimore
New England
Seattle
Pittsburgh
Minnesota
Philadelphia
Dallas
Tennessee
Out of those teams, only the Chiefs and Pats have consistently made the playoffs during those years.

The winning percentage could be because they were good teams, not because of an extra home field boost. How do we separate quality of team from the home field boost? Forgive my poor math mind!
Maybe a comparison of each franchise over a decade - home winning percentage minus road winning percentage. The highest net difference might indicate relative home advantage?
