I got in yesterday at 266. Was a bit late to the party as I was in Toronto.
But I managed to go to my yearly TFC game on Friday. It made me even more excited for this to happen in Calgary. Has anyone seen any info on supporter groups / sections?

No new groups as far as I know, but the existing Foothills supporters group is 100% behind Cavalry FC, and will be focusing on supporting that club from now on. After the PDL season I will reach out to the club to talk supporters sections. Hoping for the small stand in the SW corner near the corner flag.

Another thing to consider with the numbers of memberships is that in the FAQ page it says we’re allowed to split them into multiple accounts consisting of up to 8 season tickets. A friend of mine got the presale code on Friday and got Membership #110, amongst our group of friends there’s 5 of us wanting Supporters Group Season Tickets stemming from that 1 membership number.

Here's the Q&A from Thursday's unveiling. Touches on a lot of items such as the stadium, transport to the game, league format including future promotion/relegation plans, schedule, Canadian content and rivalries with Edmonton.

I would buy season tickets in a heartbeat if it wasn’t for the pretty ridiculous location. That’s Really going to hurt this team. I’ve have a peer group who go to a bunch of sporting events together and that’s the general concensus. We are the exact market they likely want as well. Early to Mid 30’s, who are going spend money drinking at the games.

Pretty sure you mean the NW corner right? That small stand on its own?
Yes, that's the stand I mean. IIRC, the photo is looking West, not North.
Also, someone on the Voyageurs board has said they were member #380 this afternoon. Calgary is pleasantly surprising me with how they are signing up for this club.

It takes an hour for me to get to McMahon Stadium and about 45 minutes to get to Winsport, yet I manage to get to every Stampeders and Inferno game. It's just the consequence of living in a big city.

The website http://hfxwanderersfc.canpl.ca/ has the "coming soon" banner up in anticipation of Friday's announcement. Confirmation the name will be Halifax Wanderers FC.
I have a feeling their membership count for the first week will blow Cavalry's out of the water, and Cavalry has had a very good first week.
I'm #286, and I have to remind myself that some people will be buying multiple seats so the place in line is not indicative of how many seats will tentatively be sold.
Also, that Halifax teaser was awesome. This is so exciting!

I am a Flames season tickets for 20 years and if the new arena was at Spruce Meadows I would give them up in a heart beat. Like it or not this location will affect season ticket sales. I didn't become a member of the Calgary Club for this exact reason.

Pretty excited for the opportunity for the youth in this city now. I remember when I played my last year in U18, it was "are you good enough for Europe? No? Go the college/university route."
Foothills has a perfect setup to feed into Cavalry FC now:
Cavalry FC <--- Foothills PDL <--- AMSL (assuming they win promotional games) <---- CUSA premier <--- CUSA division 1.
Sherm - have you heard if they'll be renaming any of their teams? Ie. Foothills PDL to Cavalry Reserves.
Haven't heard anything on season ticket prices or whether the PDL club will be renamed.
Also, Winnipeg will be announced June 6 and will be called "Valour FC", which I'm sure sounds stupid now but will sound better after hearing the backstory.

I think they will be called Foothills Cavalry going forward.
For anyone interested in Cavalry FC merch, Spruce Meadows got back to me. They will have some merch at the PDL games this weekend, and it will eventually be available at the Spruce Meadows shop both on site and online, although they weren't sure when exactly.
As for season ticket prices, that has not been finalized yet. Have a feeling that won't be known for a few months. Clubs are not doing much publicly until each club has done their formal announcement, as they want each market to have their moment to drum up interest individually. I think MLS season ticket prices go out in the fall prior.
I wasn't planning on harassing them about supporters group stuff until September. We've got a PDL season to focus on anyways.
