Or if he moves it back and goes far side, if he took less time or more time getting his shot he scores.

Tampa Vegas is about the worst final I can think of.
Hate Tampa (for obvious reasons) and I still can’t get on board with Vegas.
I really wanted Winnipeg Washington with Ovi finally getting a cup.

Carlson needs to learn to one time shots... can't count how many chances that guy has had the last couple of games...

Yep. A Vegas Tampa final will be good hockey but as a Flames fan it is one of the worst finals match ups I can think of. Only a Toronto Edmonton final would be worse. I hate Tampa for breaking my heart in 2004 and I hate Vegas for having instant success winning the division in a year Flames were supposed to content for it.
Winnipeg Washington would have been awesome with two longer suffering teams going for their first cup while also having the interesting quirk of being the first ever final with team from cities that start with the same letter.

Caps unlucky. Carlson brain fart at the end should have one timed it. Hopefully it goes 7 and Caps win.

I hate Tampa but respect their team this year. I don't want Tampa to win the cup but I really don't want ovi to win.
Huge supporter of Vegas, they're proof that if everyone on a team works hard and works together they can win. They play fast paced, fun hockey and hopefully the Flames take notes.
Ovi is a great scorer but there's just been too many examples of him giving up on plays to cheer for him to win. I just can't cheer for him to win it all.

I love Phil Esposito and there is a photo of him and Bobby Orr in my study.
But listening to the Lightning radio feed is just worse than awful. Sounds like the NHL satellite channel received some calls afterwards because they were immediately explaining in the post game how the other teams feed is available on a different channel.
He’s yelling at the D to stop backing in during the play.

Seriously, is that more interesting than the Vegas story, or more exciting than just having two exciting teams in the final?

I might have agreed with you on Ovi six or seven years ago, but if you ask me Ovi’s really morphed his game to become a more complete player. These last few seasons he’s been a beast. I think he’s matured and really just wants to win now.
Guy is one of the most likeable guys in the NHL IMO. I really want him to win one.

Capitals are 13-43 in their playoff history after they take a 2-game lead.

It’s funny but I don’t have much ill will towards Tampa for 04. It wasn’t their fault that the goal wasn’t called. And Tampa wasn’t dirty or anything (other than maybe the MSL trip leading to the winning goal in game 6). None of those players are around and I have a lot of respect for the job they’ve done in the last few years.

To me, this Tampa team really bears no connection to the one that beat Calgary in the finals. All of the key players from that team are long gone, and there hasn't been anything between the two organizations since to sustain any type of rivalry. Plus, I like the way the team plays, and I like a lot of the players on this current team, especially Stamkos, who I would like to see win a cup more than any other single player left in the playoffs.
If Winnipeg can't come back against Vegas, Tampa will be my number one team for the remainder of the playoffs.

Help, save, whatever.

Caps will win this in 7. I've got a feeling.
I want to see a Cap vs. Vegas final because the pre-game theatre will be great!
They killed the Kings, Sharks and Jets, but how will they do a show involving the Capitals?

Plus Brayden Point is a Calgarian. Grew up here and played for the Calgary Buffaloes.

Wow! That is a truly remarkable stat. I would guess most teams are almost the opposite of that.

I went to school with him. Haven't seen him in years but when I knew him he was a really good kid off the ice. We had a hockey class and he was so good he played with us Grade 12 kids when he was in Grade 10 and was still by far the best player on the ice every time. I'd love to see an old Bishop O'Byrne kid win it.
