I am happy about the win but that was tha Avs D game...They have more to give. The Flames play better Defense in front of Gillies than their other goalies and generate more offensive support. Bennett needs to get on another level of hockey IQ to play with Johnny and Monny but he will figure it out.

God, why can't every game be like this one?

Great game today for the Flames, I was pleased with their effort.

The only thing I didn't like was Brouwer replacing Hamilton on the one power play, especially after Stone's shot setup Monahan's goal. But that is just being nit picky.

LOL at the Avs fans in the ATL, some gems in there, but their fan base seems pretty grounded in reality.

It could be they wanted to rest a D man as they were down to 5 with Hamilton out.

Great game. We beat a team in the thick of it with us for a wildcard spot. Can’t ask for more. Great win!

Having a captain like Gio is so valuable. Not only is he playing extremely well against the top forwards in the league he is such a great leader. He is exactly what the Oilers don't have.

Reichel played in a more offensive era, but i did think at the time that the guy was going to be a star. I even stocked up on his rookie hockey cards. He plateaued pretty early though. Still an effective player for a long time but he didn’t really build on the early promise.

Also that chance in 94 Game 7 OT vs. Kirk McLean. Robbery.

Flames had a avg first period, but looked great for the final 2 periods.

Glad to see another win, especially where they had the game firmly in control.

I am getting quite tired of the approach being to hang in there till the 3rd then hope for the best, each game.

Excited to see this sudden resurgence of Bennett, tkatchuk has been the team MVP for the last month or two and was a beast again.

I think finding a depth winger for the 3rd Line would be great upgrade target this deadline . I don't think mangiapane is there yet in his development.

This team is a bit vulnerable to being fragile when they don't score. Lots of streaky players, outside of Gaudreau. Scoring 5 in each of the past 2 games, and getting goals from each line, could be a huge deal down the stretch.

Lemme get this straight:
Flames score 18 seconds in. That is a slow start.

Then they score 7 minutes later. That's still a slow start and an "average" first period.

Got it. So the only way they have a faster start is to score 10 seconds in, adding 5 goals in the first period I guess.

Is there a word that is the opposite of "clutch"? Reichel was the guy most likely to get the last goal in a 5-1 game.

Would have enjoyed the shootout though.
