Italy to repeat! In all honesty, no I don’t see them repeating. I’ve been able to witness them win the World Cup and Euro Cup in my lifetime. Any additional wins are gravy. Anyone but France….and England….and Spain.

Portugal are a decent shout but the defence is the weak point.

My 8 year old is in a full on "football is life" (Danny Rojas!) phase right now, so I've got him all hyped up for Euro 2024. Going to be a fun few weeks!

Don't really care who wins or have a favourite but looking forward to it a lot and hoping for some good football. Group B is insane, poor Albania

Alright. I'll go group by group in a bit but overall? I still think this is France's tournament to lose. I think they are the best team by far.
Can the French win upon German soil?

Italy in a tough group and really are re-tooling so I don't expect much from them...but that also tends to be when they have their most surprising tournaments.
Spain, Croatia, and Italy were 3 of 4 semi-finalists in the Nations League and somehow all land in the same group. Seeding was so weird for this tournament.
France should be the favorites, and Spain dangerous as well (although no Gavi hurts). England also should actually have a better squad than they had in 2020 (2021) even...so will be interesting to see if they can get to the finals again.

Pretty good analysis. I largely agree. Italy show up when you least expect them.
Croatia could go any way. They could be old and tired, they could be young and rejuvenated...they've punched way above their weight class for a long time has that exhausted them or inspired them? Just a fascinating group. I love watching Croatia.
Spain is Spain but I'm thinking without their generation of 'Magic Men' they'll go back to being good but underwhelming.
And England...their biggest weakness is on their bench and named Mr. Southgate. Too timid. They've got talent but an unwillingness to use it.
What sucks is that I don't think Germany are even in the top 5 of teams competing in this tournament. Which makes me ze sad.
But yeah, this should be France's tournament.

I think it'll be a slightly unexpected winner; one of Spain, Germany are my picks.
France, England & Portugal should be favourites but I don't think it'll be them.
