That’s actually great news for the CFL. Considering the NHL and NBA have taken a ratings hit. Luckily they signed their deals before the drop off.

They had a good look at him in practice and while his NFL numbers don't look great, he was really good in the XFL. Hopefully he's a quick learner and all but I imagine Dave's going to have to bring in a veteran QB to back him up in case things don't go well.

That’s not saying much since we had a good look at Maier in practice and game action and decided to go with him.
Still think we need to get a proven starter and have a completion. Easier to get rid of someone than find WB1.

Farhan is still expecting the Stamps to be in the mix for Adams.

You know who really stunk in the NFL? John Hufnagel, he played 9 games for the Bronco's threw for a paltry 36% completion rate and threw 1 TD and 9 interceptions.
Now I'm not saying that Walker is ggoing to rip the CFL up, go and win some cups as a coach before becoming a multi time winning GM.
But I rarely think that NFL stats indicate much of everything in the CFL.
Its dependant on the fit. I'd like to see what Walker can do in camp next year.

His ####ty performance is over a number of years not isolated to 1.
Turnovers and low completion % has been an issue his entire time being a QB.
Would love for him to tear it up. But we also need competition. We can a chance on Adams Jr.

Wasn't as much of an issue in college, and most CFL QBs don't even get NFL games, I'm not sure a poor performance in his limited NFL time is something to hold against him.
If he had good NFL numbers he's probably not playing in the CFL.

56.9% completions and 44 interceptions in college.
54.6% completions and 16 int in 9 games in the NFL.
We got rid of a QB who threw ill timed INTS, and Bo started having turn over issues after we moved on from him as well.
Hopefully he works out for us.

His college numbers are leaving out he also had 74 TDs and a 129 passer rating and he played 49 games. 44 ints in 49 games in college is not that abnormal.

I wouldn't fuss about the NFL numbers as plenty of HOF CFL QB's like Burris and Ray couldn't make it in the NFL.

I still remember that Hank was the lowest ranked QB in Madden the year he took the field in Chicago. I think he was like in the low 60's.

I mean, Erik Kramer (former Stamps QB) had a longer career in the NFL that Henry Burris did, but Erik Kramer was nowhere near the QB that Henry Burris was.

I was just wondering about that. The guy set school records for wins, Touchdown passes, total touchdowns completing running touchdowns.
He had a 129 QB rating which is really good. In his last year he had a rating of 140 which is exceptional.
He passed for over 3300 yards in his final season which is really good for Temple.
There's nothing wrong with his college stats.
He was an undrafted QB for the NFL. The Panthers report spoke highly of his QB IQ, his arm strength, velocity, his arm talent (Delivery) and his ability to play compact underneath.
Sports forecaster liked his arm strength and mobility, they questioned his accuracy, and his size being under 6 feet which is an NFL kiss of death, because most NFL teams play a tall QB offense, where they can see over the middle of the line.
Scouts did also like his leadership and poise.
He did pretty well in the XFL, with a over 100 QB rating throwing 15 TD's and 4 interceptions.
Yeah, his NFL stats are pretty poor, but he wasn't a QB that was going to be developed, he was a stop gap.
I think there is potential there that earns him a look with the Stamps for sure. But saying his college stats are poor just isn't true.

1988 was a banner year for the Stamps.
Your starting QB Rick Worman, Erik Kramer as his backup, "Hollywood" Rick Johnson carrying the clip board and Carl Fodor fetching the coffee and donuts.

Again I’m talking specifically about turnovers it seems to follow him around outside the 1 XFL season.
We just need a QB who can scramble and not panic and throw into then defensive tackle.

Montreal is another team to watch. Do they bring back with Fajardo and Alexander?

Yeah, there's an article on 3DownNation about that situation. Fajardo still has 1 year remaining on his contract, but Davis Alexander is a pending free agent. I think Davis might be looking to be a starter in this league.

There are lots of questions that can be asked, I doubt any of the NFL coaches spent a whole lot of time with him, They saw him as a under 6 foot qb that wasn't a developmental project.
And after 15 years of coaching QB's, with a lot of QB's that throw a lot of interceptions, its not about panic, its about trying too hard to make things happen, and not understanding thier window capability.
I had a kid in Spring, he was a freak, a huge arm, he was smart and he really didn't panic in the pocket, but he had too much belief in his arm and thought he could throw a 12 inch window.
Its fixable.

Would you say Jake was trying too hard. He should never have believed in his arms.
Guys like Nurris Mitchell sure not Jake. He threw some ugly ill times picks.

Quite the contrast to 1998 when you have Jeff Garcia, Dave Dickenson and Henry Burris. Or even 1995 when you have Doug Flutie and Jeff Garcia.
