What the Islanders have done for us Flames fans:
Defeated the Canucks in the 1981-1982 Stanley Cup final
Defeated the Oilers in the 1982-1983 Stanley Cup final
What the Tampa Bay Lightning have done for us:
Stolen the 2004 Staley Cup...
Pretty obvious that I will be jumping on the Islanders bandwagon for this one. Hopefully Barry Trotz can knock off the lightning like he did in 2018 with the Capitals!
Go Islanders Go!

Whoever wins this, I’d rather they win the cup. Cheering for Isles though.

Can’t see the Islanders getting through Tampa. Vasilevsky is a different species and they just have too much high end talent.

Backing the underdog from the island. No idea why, but have been rooting for them in the east since the restart. 2004 vibes maybe.
Tampa is a tough out for them, but was surprised to see them play so well against everyone else so far so who knows.
Isles in 7

Give me a team that plays good defense over an offensive powerhouse. Isles in 7.

Normally I’d agree. But this is a deep and well tuned powerhouse. It’s going to be an onslaught and I’m not sure they have the goaltending needed to bail them out.
That said, go Isles.

Best offense in the NHL vs best defense. This should be a treat to watch.

That is a rematch of the 1981 Stanley Cup Final.

Sports writers should not decide who wins awards. Some of those idiots are the most anachronistic, biased and contemptible blowhards walking.
Congrats to Bobby Ryan though. Just don’t think writers should factor in player legacy.
