Oh but just you wait until those fans hit college. Then theyll know who TOOL is. And they'll forget all about Tay tay.

Been listening to this album quite a lot. I'm finding that the longer tracks really make repeat listening a necessity, as I'm pulling out bits of them I missed every time I re-listen.

“Don’t you dare point that at me...”

I’ve had that followed by the huge riff on repeat in my head for two days now.

Why the hell can't I listen to all the songs on the album. Says songs like Schism aren't available in my country? Anyone else have that happen to them?

Are people still listening to Fear Inoculum? I gave it several chances but thought it was a bit of a bore.

yes sir. I always skip Chocolate Chip Trip, but the rest is just excellent.

1 Lateralus
2 Fear Inoculum
3 Ænima
4 10,000 Days
5 Undertow

I think that's how I'd rank them, but it really is super close between 1 and 4.

I love it, too.

My ranking is:

1. Aenima
2. Undertow
3. Opiate
4. Fear Inoculum
5. Lateralus
6. 10,000 Days

Same boat. Love old Tool, but absolutely nothing on the new album stood out to me. I gave it several full play throughs just to make sure I wasn't missing anything, but even after that if I look at the track list I can't hear any of the songs in my head

Pneuma is my favourite Tool song now, and I love just about every song from Tool (except Chocolate Chip Trip). It's like it gets better with every listen. It's now overtaken my other two all-time faves (Stinkfist and Ticks & Leeches).

Also, when the album was #1 on Billboard last year and it pissed off all the clueless Taylor Swift fans, it made me giddy with joy.

Aenima is far and away my favorite tool album. 46&2 is an amazing song. Eulogy, Third Eye and Aenema are also awesome.

I love the short, musical pallet cleansing clips in between the songs.

Yeah there are plenty of albums that don't resonate with me on first or second listening but eventually it clicks and I love them. It just didn't happen for this album. I'm not one of those people that will say something sucks because I don't like it as with music it's a personal thing and as a person that wore out Aenima I have come to the realization that I'm just not a fan of their current direction that consist almost solely of slow-tempo, long drawn out tracks.

Pneuma is such an awesome song. All the songs have a pent up energy that I really like.

I get why some of the other guys don't like the album, though. I'm surprised I like it as much as I do and it did take a few listens before it hooked me. But now it's my go to if I can't think of what to play. Was hoping for songs like Prison Sex, H, Aenema, Stinkfist, etc., but my old-man brain is enjoying the slow long songs right now.

I agree with this. My top Tool is Undertow/Aenima, Maynard is in peak form on those albums and almost every track hits hard and is uniquely memorable. I still really like Lateralus and 10,000 Days too, though I have to be in a different mood for them. With Fear Inoculum though every meaningful track is over 10 minutes, and there's so much meandering in them it's hard to stay engaged. If they had split some of them up in a Parabol/Parabola way I think that would have helped, but they seem intent on making every new song they write a marathon

I still love this record, it gets better with each listen. I kind of get the dislike for CCT but to me it just showcases Danny Carey, he sounds like he has 8 arms! The dude is almost 60 and he's still that creative. Unreal.

Somewhat related, I've been attempting to buy tickets for their show here in Vancouver but have been stuck in the ticketmaster "Lobby" since 10 AM yesterday. I loathe ticketmaster and the ticketbots, stub hub etc.

I don't know if an "of course not" is warranted considering their touring history with this city. I mean they literally just played Calgary three years ago on their last tour.
