After most of the season not featuring a ton of Isaac, it was nice to see that we learned a lot more about it.
I really like how they played with the fact that he's completely literal in how he thinks. I know it sounds stupid, but when Claire suggested flipping the table and he does I laughed.
Frankly in a lot of ways, Isaac is a child, he's completely oblivious and while he observes and compiles data, he's never going to be capable of connecting or caring with people in the same way we do.
When John gives him breakup advice and he makes himself unappealing by wearing a wife beater and telling Claire that she's fat, he's angry at no dinner and maybe she's on her period, you know it was without malice, he just mimics what he's told.
I do think that Claire was actually really unfair, but the old saying is that love blinds us all, and she was blinded to what Isaac was and she judged him based on being human.
I was also glad that they didn't make a big plot line over Bortas' mustache.
This episode really reminds me about how much I like symphony Performances as well.
I really laughed at the return of the Staircase, and the scene of John and Gordon springing to the bridge to spread gossip was just so perfect.

I really liked the episode, but they're spending a lot of times tackling thorny social issues
But the preview looks pretty action packed for next week.
Just some random thoughts
Quote:
Bortas' marriage is really on the rocks now he had told Klyden earlier this year that he couldn't forgive what happened to their son, and now this.
I was wondering, the makeup on Kylden and the character tonight are slightly different then Bortas' were they born female?
Yeah, loved the cup cake refusal. Gordon took a backseat again but his questioning on the Maklan cultures was pretty funny.
They really hit us over the head with how unlikable the Maklan culture is.
Isaac polling the crew on sexual positions.
That last scene between Kylden and Talla was really powerful. She did a great job of portraying a lot of anger.
Anyone notice that Ed eats weird?
Another appearance by the Staircase.
Kelly was really brutal in how she handled the breakup.
I think it was a mistake to move John off of the bridge, he's almost become a forgotten character.
Mark Jackson indicated in an interview that we are going to learn more about Isaac's background and how he got his name. He also said that they had filmed a massive space battle.
