Very true, but also the men behind the mask largely arent supposed to be all that emotional. A good example is the first scene in the bar where he completely ignores rando giving him a hard time.

Having the helmet on really adds to the gravity of that scene.

And I'm still a little upset about the whole thing.

I keep telling you that if you want the free beer the barman slides you then you've got to be faster on the draw or transient Alternative Bailiff Servants are going to cave your head in with the Mug.

We've been over this.

I'm hopeful and expecting he will have more mask off time. The mask on is cool, but his character was too monotone and emotionless to carry a TV show.

Sets the stage well, but he'll have to be more dynamic and show more acting if that show is going to be good.

The beginning I was like, this is weird without seeing his face.

But as he talked more, you could kinda get a good sense of the character. Then I didn't even notice he was wearing a mask towards the end.

I thought it worked really well.

So just to confirm - this story timeframe is between Episodes 6 and 7, right? After the fall of the Empire, but before the rise of the First Order?

Yes, and it is much closer to Return of the Jedi (5 years after) than The Force Awakens (25 years before).

The canon time line has it at 5 years after, which means that its at the same time or slightly after the Battle of Jakku, and the Galactic Concordance which was the final treaty and disarmament of the Empire. The diehard imperials had fled to the unknown region to start building the first order by this time.

So the doctor and the client, could be Imperial Die Hards from the First Order. Or something more evil linked to the next movie.

Was it just my low grade internet, or was the CGI and filming style purposefully made to look like it was filmed/made in the 80s? If so, that is awesome.

I kind of felt that way to. I felt like some of the scenes were really trying hard to look like the original films, and I loved it.

I don't emote normally over media. But damn if I didn't have a smile on my face the whole time I was watching this show.

Episode 2 should be out either late tonight or tomorrow.

I guess we'll find out what Disney+'s release schedule will be. I believe Netflix typically releases new content at midnight PT. We'll see if Disney does the same, or possibly midnight ET ... or who knows what else?

After this, the remaining episodes will be released every Friday until the end of December, except the episode scheduled for the week of The Rise of Skywalker's release. That episode will be released on Wednesday.

Second episode is up at 1:00am MST. There is a countdown on StarWars.com, episode two coming so fast makes up for such a short first.

Just an aside, everytime I see your name I am reminded of Mystery Science Fiction 3000 the movie when they were reading the credits.

Episode 2 was great! But again with only a 30 min runtime I feel like it’s not enough. Bloody Dirty Jawas!

This whole show has a spaghetti western vibe to it. Music and everything, especially that ending theme.

So what does everyone think? Is the baby Yoda's son?

If the baby is 50, then unlikely, Jedi didn't marry or have kids. Well except for Anakin and we saw what happened there.
