About as pressure free of a game as you can get. No Borjan due to COVID. No Hutchinson, Larin or Cavallini due to injury. No Hoilett or Wotherspoon as Mexico is on the UK red list of countries.

The big game is Sunday in Jamaica, and it looks like that game will be behind closed doors and Jamaica will be missing some of their big names.

Ughh, is this even worth watching tonight? Those are some big names not playing. I think we're going to get waxed.

We have something they don't have. Alphonso.

Anything can happen and Mexico will be under tons of pressure. Trip up against Canada at home, and the group is wide open.

Canada was supposed to get waxed against Mexico in the Gold Cup semis and they kept it level until the 99th minute. That was in front of 75000 Mexicans and without Borjan, Davies, David, Larin, Cavallini or Hutchinson.

Will be a different Mexican team, and Canada are deserved underdogs, but I don't think it'll be a blowout by any means.

Fair enough! I'm expecting a loss but anything that isn't a blowout should be considered a big positive.

So with the 3 games against Mexico, Jamaica and Panama this cycle, what is everyone's point expectations?

Mine:
-7 to 9 points: Amazing!
-5 or 6 points: solid to good
-4 points: ok
-3 points or less: really disappointing

I’m excited for the game tonight! Looking forward to seeing Crepeau in goal and seeing what Davies and David can do on the counter attack. Hoilett is another big loss but he’ll be rested for Jamaica

Yeah basically this. I would maybe say 3 points is disappointing but you are still in it, less than 3 is really disappointing.

It's a game in which I expect possession to be like 70% for Mexico, but I'm hoping we can catch them on some counters. We've never won in Mexico....so why not now?!

Remember that this one is on OneSoccer (of course) and also Sportsnet 360 at 8pm 7:30pm. OneSoccer will no doubt have some pregame stuff too. A replay is on Sportsnet One at 11pm.

I'm a proud subscriber of OneSoccer, but being able to PVR this and watch on a slight delay suits my lifestyle nicely. Or in other words: get the kid's ass in bed and enjoy this one with a beverage.

Thanks - I edited my post. I'm seeing 7:40 now as a kickoff time on Soccerway, Forza app, etc.), with the Sportsnet broadcast starting at 7:30.

Apologies for the confusion!

I am forcing my kids to watch and stand at attention during the anthem saluting the entire time. Yes, even my 8 month old.

Why am I not surprised that you predict a drubbing?

I know our team is the best it’s ever been, but we’ve never picked up points in Central America in qualifying before. Add to that, we are missing some important players.

However, Jamaica is missing its 2 best players and are playing in an empty stadium.

Best case scenario for me is 6 points: wins against Panama and Jamaica. I’m a bit concerned some of our players will run out of gas by game #3. I’d be thrilled with 6 points. It will not be easy.

Herdman putting out about as solid a starting lineup as possible. I actually think a centre midfield of Eustaquio and Kaye is the best pairing we have.

Two points from the three matches would be an incredible achievement. Canada are likely to be beaten very badly tonight, so a couple of draws from the remaining matches are the best we can hope for.

Very even so far. Buchanan could have taken a touch. No one around him.
