That MTL second is pretty close to the value of a late first...MTL 2nd + Mercer for Markstrom would be interesting.

I agree and Suniev was rated around the 50 pick going into the draft. That pick ended up being close to 1st round value most drafts.
Devils did ok but Sharangovich is turning into a star, he's our #1 center right now and worth more than a 2nd. Looking back this was not great for the Devils even if at the time Sharangovich wasn't viewed as good as he is now.

This trade pretty much confirms that.
And now, Sharangovich has blossomed and is worth more than a 2nd, so Conroy killed it.
