I was beating that drum after the trade.
Still believe its a good trade for Calgary if Lucic throws 200+ hits, can be good on the forecheck, and can score 5 goals or whatever. Him punching Zadorov already brought more to the team than Neal accomplished all season last year.
To me, I'm judging him compared to Neal as a Flame, not Neal as an Oiler. It's a pathetically low bar based on Neal's embarrassing season last year.

I feel like Neal's early season performance (and the Oiler's team performance as a whole) has created more negativity around the Flames start for sure.
Going to feel good when that team shooting percentage drops from 12% and they start to actually get punished for being thoroughly outplayed every game.
Lucic is the first Flames player since Engelland that when watching live you can always hear when he hits someone into the wall, even if you're sitting in a section at the complete opposite side of the rink. Boards crunch, glass crashes.

The Oilers SP is currently 15.6%!
Last year the most efficient scoring team was TB, and they ended the year with a 12.15% SP. Last year the Oilers shot at a rate of 9.55%.

I think league average is generally right around 10%.

Oh man, you just made my blood boil by remembering that gutless play. MMA'ing a defenseless player on the players bench, and then not playing them again the rest of the season. Is this the first time the teams have met since then?

Yeah me too, that was one of the dirtiest things I've ever seen in the NHL excepting some of the stick swinging incidents and the Bertuzzi. Him and Kane are the two guys in the league I just can not stand.
I suspect the flames have mostly let it go though, which honestly is better for the team instead of going on a vendetta 70s/80s style. And Lucic wasn't even here so he probably doesn't care.
Now that Witkowski is gone from Detroit they are buttery soft, not like the Flames are real tough but if a team in the NHL is going to get bullied this year they'd be right up there.
Nope, Lucic needs to stir #### up and bully people even if there is no reason to. If he's going to wait until someone else has an enforcer he can match up with, he's going to be useless 70% of the time. The point of him being a disturber is that it makes other teams have to adjust, not the other way around.
