An interesting artifact, to be sure.

What behemoth landed last night just after 6pm? I was at a friend's place in Casel (17th and Crowchild SW) and I could practically read the tail fin. I thought there was more blue than the video above, but was it the antonov?
The other planes I saw taking off/landing looked like tiny, indistinct white lines from that distance.

Only think I see in Flightaware around that time was a Transat A330. They are blue and white and were the only widebody arriving in that time period. They would look big compared to everything else arriving at that time.

I've heard that the organization isn't great, but it's a good place to work for.

Hoping we get some good pics! Very rare to ever get a 747 passenger plane here that isn't a diversion!

Would BA have put 2 flights worth of passengers on that plane to ensure that they weren't flying a half empty plane?

Not necessarily, nor would they have to, given that the regular BA flight is also on the way right now. The flight is about 20 hours late... so the cost of flying the plane half empty is a cost they'd simply absorb.

My question is how do they crew the return flight? Minimum rest hours would seem to preclude deadheading the crew over on the inbound flight and obviously there is no advance notice of the change so they can't bring them in ahead of time. I actually had this thought last week when the JAL charter was here for the Champions Tour flight but at least with a charter they airline can plan in advance.

The plane landed at about 3:15 pm yesterday. Presumably the inbound crew operated the outbound... that's 14ish hours rest.

Makes sense, I was thinking it would be a normal turnaround - time wise.

Yeah they offloaded everyone then towed the plane to a parking pad where it spent the night.
