Friday night, saw Beast in Black at Dickens.
Saturday, flew to Portland and caught Agalloch's ruinion show.
Cryptopsy was also playing in Portland on the Sunday, and they played 5 tracks off of None so Vile.
Good weekend for live music.

Avatar on Sunday was amazing. I was in the front with my two boys (10 and 12). We were waiting for the show to start and my younger son was worried about being able to see and I told him not to worry, as soon as the show started I would get them right to the front and protect them from the pit if it was close. Sure enough, we got right to the front and the 3 of us in a line.
Was probably the best concert I have ever been to. Both of my kids got a guitar pick and the drummer singled out my youngest and handed him a drumstick.
It was really cool when Johannes mentioned seeing kids in the crowd and it being a family event. We had our horns up all night and it was awesome. My voice is still recovering.

Same experience for me, brought my 14 year old to his first show and it was such an awesome time. Avatar really does put on a show like no other band I've ever seen. Highly recommended.

went to see Ankor in Munich yesterday. I just love this band and they absolutely delivered live as well ... one the greatest concerts I've been to in a long time.
Really solid EP. The "Rotoscope" EP was a bit more experimental ... this one rather feels like a natural extension of "Eternal Blue", which is totally fine by me. Good collection of songs, of which "The Void" is the weakest to me personally - and even that one was decent.
