Question I need a new Dell Laptop battery

As per the title, my battery fried the other day, I need a new one for my XPS M1210 laptop, but I don't really want to pay $140 for one from Dell, is there any reliable and more reasonably priced aftermarket ones floating out there that'll ship to Canada? I'm planning to replace this laptop in a year anyways so it seems kinda silly to pay that much for a new battery...

Thanks CP!

Ebay would probably be your best bet.

You might try http://compsurp.com/

Sometimes they have deals, depending upon what they happen to have in stock. It's always worth a call for older parts.

I bought a new one off of ebay for like $50 (I have the same model as you) it was a Dell battery too. Just search for the model number of the battery you already have.

Something to keep in mind about buying "new" batteries off places like ebay and third party suppliers - Although the battery is new as in its never been installed and used in a laptop, Lithium Ion batteries start aging the second they come off the assembly line. Regardless of how many cycles you put on one, performance starts to degrade the day it was made, and the battery will be in serious decline by the age of 3 or so. Other factors, such as the temperature and level of charge it was stored at also come into play in determining the overall health of the battery out of the box.

So those cheaper batteries you find for sale on ebay, if they were bought as surplus and have sat around for a couple years, may not be the bargain you are expecting, even if they do say Dell on the outside.

I've bought from this site over a year ago.
I can only speak for the Compaq laptop batteries I bought, which both so far have worked great, and still hold a charge very well.

They are located in BC and ship from Canada.
